Don’t want to be a bus driver all my life Words and photos: http://jonsmalldon.wordpress.com "We are on the brink of a new era, if only ..." (Beiderbecke Trilogy)

Can someone explain to me - like you would to a child - why some media (*cough* BBC *cough*) are reporting "out of control heap of space junk crashes into moon unexpectedly" like it's some kind of positive thing?

My football talking point is that Eva Olid would be an excellent appointment for Man Utd Women in normal times but she will have to work beyond wonders to keep this set up in the running for any trophies. And I'm not sure she has the experience to do that. Here ends the football talking point.

My vague, unimportant, conspiracy theory is that The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins is not available in the UK because the British media have decided that, because he had the temerity to be ungrateful, Daniel Radcliffe can only be shown as Harry Potter on UK TV.

Google tells me there is a hosepipe ban in Hastings. And there really should be but there isn’t. We’re Southern not South East Water here and they appear to have forgotten to put in place any restrictions.

Found the record breaking UK no 1 on YouTube. I can confirm: - No, I really haven’t heard it before. Something I think would have been impossible “back in the day”. - It’s well put together and perfectly fine but it’s not for me. And as I’m approaching a half century that is fine.

Hacks doing that lazy hate grift Is upsetting, but I sometimes think “Well, it’s a rough old industry at the moment. And it puts food on the table.” And then one of them dies, and all that food, earned with poison seems utterly wasted, and you’re just left with the ugly stain they’ve left behind.

You know a thing that’s good? Televisions. Each of the TVs I have had to buy upon the death of its predecessor has been cheaper, better and easier to install than the one before.

In the garden. I am drinking wine, processing photos and listening to music through the headphones. "Angel of the Morning" has just come on. The neighbourhood should be very grateful that I have had but one glass .. or else all of Hastings would be hearing 'singing' they could never forget.

By the way, you know how that guy on that podcast is showing that he's a know nothing grifter who needs engagement - and then doubling down because he's got just enough education to believe he's smart. That's *all of them* *all the time*.

When friendlies become unfriendly. A few feisty moments towards the end of an otherwise fairly standard pre-season goalless draw between the Uniteds of Hastings and Hashtag. Words and photos to follow.

Hashtag players stride angrily towards the assistant referee, in the background a bestricken Hastings player is on the ground

Death, taxes and cheering on whoever is playing Barry Town. Unless it's TNS, then we pray for the rapture to take us all. Live Cymru Premier on the iPlayer. Welsh commentary, obvs.

If you’re in Hastings, the Grumpy Cook is a great place for a coffee and a cake, and they do excellent breakfasts. But, more importantly, they feed people, support vulnerable adults, and work to combat poverty in all its forms in one of the most deprived towns in England.

This has really pissed me off, if you're in the area and can afford it go and give the cafe owner some money to help fund the kids meals. And if he refuses buy yourself a nice coffee and tip him as much as you can. Fuck Reform taking food from kids in need. www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...

That lad with his starched shirt and tie who gets paid by the beeb to scare us silly that “176 migrants in five boats” made the crossing today must be devastated he can’t use his clicker for the surge in Ceuta.

Infantino will absolutely run a World Cup without UEFA nations. I wouldn’t put it past him to go direct to agents and spend a few million finding some scabs to play for “England”, “Germany” and the like.
