If anyone uses Stripe to get payments, go to your Settings (Gear icon) > Plans and Fees > Radar (View plan details) > View Plans > Scroll to "More Options" and select "Lite" I want none of the money I earn to go to AI if I can help it.
nice, now Stripe is auto-opting people into a nickel charge per transaction for "AI-enhanced" protection shit they never asked for you can change it back to their free "Lite" version, but the fact that it's opt-out by default is so fucking annoying

Absolutely zero mention of the very recent historic layoffs in this article. Cool, cool. 🫠 I hate this sick culture. www.seattletimes.com/business/mic...

Wikimedia Will Not Voluntarily Recognize Union a Supermajority of Its Workers Want
The Wikimedia Foundation waited until immediately after its largest annual conference to say it wouldn't voluntarily recognize its workers' union.

They ran almost 15,000 authors' published, copyrighted books through an AI checker—itself an AI system—exposing their work to genAI without consent, then turned around and accused *the authors* of using AI. Cool study! Very ethical! 🤡 arxiv.org/abs/2607.203...
Curious about hopepunk? This recent collex, INTERESTING TIMES, makes it relatable just as our consensual reality continues to shatter. I'm proud they included my short piece, "Three Best Practices for Helping Bottlenecked Earthbounds." Thx to Marc T/Suzanna L for believing in it! a.co/d/0dQvjSPS
Definitely the sign of a super-healthy society, yup, historically this is always true of nations that are doing really, really well
I wrote about how much Americans wagered on sports betting in 2025 and how it’s more than they spent on movies, art, museums and music combined. Read my article @fortunemagazine.bsky.social fortune.com/2026/07/26/g...

This feels grimly accurate. I think for most people, engagement with the party feels like getting on Temu’s mailing list: Just a neverending stream of spam asking for cash and no other meaningful call to be part of anything that might generate any sense of identity or community.
There's nothing to "join" in the Democratic Party. It's a brand with products I spend my vote on once a year at the democracy store. Most people's experience of it is an endless stream of texts that read like scams, their reward for donating or signing a petition. No wonder DSA is growing
