Yup. Austen’s Emma is a story that can be re-interpreted over and over in different time periods and settings, but trying to copy this particular interpretation of it makes zero sense.

It was lightning in a bottle, a satirical glimpse into SoCal wealth during the dying days of ‘90s monoculture. It was messy and silly but charming. A legacy sequel is a mistake.
