11:13, about the 3:40 pace: first runner to take a White Castle slider.
Odd to me that there are so many Pinhead Gunpowder tickets available for this week’s show at First Ave. Seems like $35 to see Billie Joe & Co shouldn’t be a hard sell.
Commuters aren’t “stuck in” traffic, they ARE traffic
Commuters are stuck in heavy traffic in the West Metro.
Another day, another injury report. Work in education, it will be rewarding, they said etc etc
This. I know a modest amount about music - been to 40some concerts this year - but I learn about artists I’ve never heard of literally every day. I can’t imagine how someone could think we all know every artist or even every hit.
Imagine being so wrapped up in your tiny corner of the world that when you learn there are people who don’t live in that corner, your first thought is that they must be posturing.
I’m already tired of being cold and it’s not even October 😭
I posted about that article from the mom’s point of view because I appreciated the sentiment, but I no longer trust any writing accompanied by an AI image.
Her performance was lovely! And the visuals brought it to another level 😍
It still kind of amazes me that Phoebe Bridgers can sell out a hockey arena, but she did just that Thursday night in St. Paul. (On the same stage Eric Clapton played two nights ago to a much smaller crowd.) Here's my review (gift link):
Was thinking of grabbing a ticket to Liz Phair tonight and then saw that she plays in front of hideous AI vids this go round so nah
I cried. A lot. I wanted to stay for the next showing.
I'm going to see the Oasis doc this afternoon with @twindependent.bsky.social! Unfortunately, I don't anticipate hearing either of my two favorite Oasis songs: Columbia and Mucky Fingers.
There are 4 houses for sale within a couple blocks of us, asking prices $390k, $395k, $440k, and $450k. My neighborhood is fine - reasonably-sized mid-century homes. Those prices are absolutely *absurd*
Scrolling bsky this morning and everyone is in a city hall in the Netherlands except me?
Still recovering from this tbh. What a mess of options. And I only drank 58 of them! www.twincities.com/2026/08/29/t...
The ranch beer wasn’t the worst we tried. 2026 Minnesota State Fair beverages, reviewed
Mango, pickle and tropical fruits were trends. Were they successful? No.

Had the bestest time at this as Ross’s Concert Wife™️
Sierra Ferrell was terrific tonight at the MN State Fair Grandstand. Highlight of the show was a new song, the Brandi Carlile-esque Pair of Dice, that sounds like a hit in waiting. Here's my review (gift link):
Foolish scheduling to have both Margo Price and Sierra Farrell on different stages at the same time at the MN State Fair. Seen Margo twice already this year so Sierra wins tonight. But it’s wrong I should have to choose between them!
Opening all the buildings at 7am when the Fair opens instead of waiting until 9am would help a bit.
Embiggen the Fair picking up steam
I was worried about Tame Impala tonight because the new album is a dud. But holy shit it was a *fantastic* show. The crowd was really diverse, too, from parents to teens to everything in between. It was like the Breakfast Club up in that bitch. Gift link to my review:
Concert review: Tame Impala makes magic at sold-out Target Center show
A wildly diverse crowd of about 18,000 fell under the spell of the Australian psychedelic dance act.

Sorry, MN folks, this article is not about The Replacements
The American Historical Association hired a lobbying firm to help silence member advocacy on Palestine. In this essay, Adam Rzepka covers @historians.org's relationship w/ Thorn Run Partners, its deep ethical conflicts, & the advocacy crisis AHA has thrust upon us. www.chronicle.com/article/a-sc...
I’m mourning Dolly tonight by *checks notes* …seeing British industrial dance legends Nitzer Ebb…?
We were SO CLOSE basking in her presence. See you on the flip side, Dolly.
I'm heartsick. I was on a Sun Country flight less than two weeks ago to meet Dolly at Dollywood for a media event. The MSP flight had mechanical issues and had to turn around. Then Dolly's PR people said she wouldn't be attending the event in person. My last chance. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/25/a...
yes I do know about the character I play, i am aware. I love Crow dearly but I enjoy him most when he falls and explodes (cannot die though; immortal)
I worked all summer, but tomorrow school starts up again in earnest. That means 9-10 hour days, getting emotionally dragged and physically injured over and over. Coping by buying show tickets and planning trips, go figure. 😈
Fab time crashing the wedding of @billchilds.bsky.social’s kid with @atarifan2600.bsky.social and @normcharlatan.bsky.social. Also talked for like a hour with a small contingent of 20-somethings who were an absolute blast. Gorgeous night. Life is good.
Unrepentant sucker for a gimmick, part x: Strawberry pop tart liquid death iced tea? Start is overly sweet artificial strawberry; hint of black tea in the middle, and then fades to a captain crunch/malt finish? I guess they nailed it. “Natural flavors” in the ingredients is working real hard.
All the pervert glasses/pervert AirPods talk really has me thinking about schools. There are already stealth recording devices on the market for smaller children to wear, and older children use phones. But higher surveillance in the classroom is gonna cause more teachers to leave education.
Wow. Just found out a story written by my high school bff Elissa will be on MPR’s Selected Shorts. Read by professional actors at a live taping in NYC hosted by Cynthia Nixon, the whole deal. 🎉 Wish Elissa was here to see it. She died 13 years ago. 💔
