Y'know, I could just buy one of these. There are several on the market with under 50k miles, all well within my budget. But they're all around a decade old now, and I wonder if I'd just be asking for trouble if I tried to daily it.

Tip for those of you also writing a 3,500-word story on your desktop computer: Before you file it to your editor, read the draft on your phone. Those beautifully crafted, long-winded sentences and paragraphs look a lot different (ie, more soporific) on a tiny screen.

I went to get my stuff out of my wrecked car yesterday. Some photos, since a few of you asked. 2021 Ford Escape Titanium, 2.0 EcoBoost, only 17k miles. Was in excellent shape before Monday afternoon. RIP buddy.
