This one stings. Thanks to Jeff/Stanchion for putting out so much great weird beautiful writing, and supporting writers and books/magazines. This is how it goes in our weird little world. It's a bummer but also time to say thanks and celebrate all Jeff and Stanchion accomplished.
Officially announcing the end of Stanchion Magazine, providing context as to why, answering some questions, and saying thank you. 🖤🤍 www.stanchionzine.com/post/the-end...

Back at you @rpmirabella.bsky.social 💗 The act of writing can be lonely, publishing is often hard (or impossible). Cherish the meaningful friendships you make along the way.
One wonderful thing my novel gave me is @jsavrankelly.bsky.social.
I've reached the talking-to-my-banana-in-French part of the workday.

Chicago teen shares his experience in ICE detention centers: I am 18 years old and I just graduated from high school in Chicago. I was in ICE detention for 2 months and 10 days. They kept me in solitary for 2 days for no reason, alone in a room with just a toilet. They never let us go outside.
Raise your hand if you are a lit mag editor or reader who is very worried about the AI stuff the new Submittable CEO plans to try to force on us? That email introducing him yesterday is haunting me. We don't need or want AI anywhere near our submissions process.
I had every intention of getting up for #5amWritersClub today and then I unknowingly pressed snooze for almost an hour.

Dead or alive, Mitch McConnell is on extended medical leave — on your dime. This is the same Mitch McConnell who voted against: paid family and medical leave for everyone else.

No better feeling than a reader connecting with something you’ve written 🥰🥰🥰 Thank you for publishing it and sharing these kind words @aaronburch.bsky.social !

The cyclospora outbreak has reached 7,400 cases across 9 states. The FDA just recalled 1.6 million eggs due to salmonella contamination. Screwworm cases continue to rise. And we’ve just surpassed 2,300 measles cases — breaking 2025’s record. “Make America Healthy Again.”
One of the best things you can do for an author is check their book out of the library. If your library doesn't have the title, requesting it is also great! Never apologize. The library bought the book! Sometimes more than one! Because of you!
Never ever apologize for getting someone's book from the library. A lot of them were written by authors who themselves first read a lot of other books in a library

Yesterday I joined a book club that was discussing ENDPAPERS, which is always such a joy & honor! Even better, one of the readers confessed that the description made her think it was a sci-fi time-traveling mystery! All I can say is, dang, where were she and her great idea when I was writing it?? 😆
Good morning #5amWritersClub. It’s been a while. I’m back to work on my inflatable dad novella and feeling eager to get to these revisions! Happy writing, everyone 🎈
I have an event for ENDPAPERS tomorrow and it's been so long since I've read it, I don't know if I remember any of it 😅
I got some excellent advice from another writer about how to solve the remaining issues in the essay I've been wrangling with for months: Walk away. Just put it down and eventually the ending will write itself. I've been thinking about this for a while, but I needed to hear it.
