My ‘neurotypical’ son has just explained the upcoming eclipse minute by minute, and he’s memorised the timings.

First encounter with a crack pipe wielding addict in a cafe, in our first hour in the city. Decided to walk to the Police Museum. Took a turning up what must be crack alley. Dozens and dozens of zombie-like addicts on the streets, which stink of urine. Sketchy as. Welcome to Vancouver.
Alaska, 11.30 at night (no filters). It’s a bit eerie!
Curiosity got the better of me and I went to a hypnotist show. I recognised a volunteer - she cried on me about her son and her ‘gran-babies.’ Hypnotist made them pretend to be delivering babies. Now, arguably, more fool her for volunteering, but he had no idea if anyone is carrying trauma.

Using the toilet can be a huge demand trigger for autistic adults. We don’t talk about it enough.
Registration for the Men B vaccination opened today. Two doses, at least 28 days apart, so make sure any young people you know about get booked in early so there's time before the new school/uni term www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Leaving Las Vegas. Last night was an even weirder vibe. Massive UFC fight in our hotel (Conor MacGregor). Lots of ‘pumped’ white males milling about. Plus, there’s a national female college basketball championship going on. Loads of happy, healthy groups of young women.
Goodness me. Our wonderful dog sitter died suddenly at new year and I’ve just had a text saying his partner has just died. Our old dog slept in her bed when we were away, despite being banned from ours! Here’s a blurry photo she sent me. She’s out of pain now, but wow, life can be cruel.
The most positive thing I can say about Vegas is that it’s, ‘an experience.’ But breakfast is none too shabby.

The best accommodation isn’t always a tool. Sometimes it’s another human being who believes you the first time.

Get Leah Catherine Williamson in that changing room immediately to shout at everyone.
My family has spent YEARS laughing at my hobbit-like feet… Just been told I have brachymetatarsia - basically my first metatarsal is abnormally short in both feet.

Goodness, the maternity report coverage is stirring up some ‘stuff’ from almost thirty years ago, for me. Solidarity to anyone feeling a bit the same today. Still, as one of my most memorable students used to say when things felt tricky and it was best to look forward, ‘we move!’
Stupid knee. MCL sprain is improving nicely. Torn meniscus not quite so much. Paid a king’s ransom for a fancy brace via a private orthotist. It’s definitely helped my knee but my foot and ankle are now very unhappy. I suspect that an off-loading brace was a bad idea. Here we go again. #EDS

Girls of around fourteen leaping off a high bridge into shallow water, despite the warning signs. All being filmed by a big group of friends.
Morning! I was up at five which means I’ve already smashed a glass and destroyed the lining of my husband’s Berghaus in the washing machine. Hope you have a good day!
Day began with a non-fitting tumble drier delivery. As it ends, we await the alarm company as our panic button keeps activating and setting sirens and lights off. My poor neighbours.
Messed up measurement of an integrated appliance. Our fault though we couldn’t measure depth at the bottom (didn’t know there were pipes behind). AO.com couldn’t have been more helpful, both fitters and customer services. All sorted with only £15 to pay. Replacement arrives on Friday.
Happy Saturday everyone. Too hot to sleep beside a snorer, so I’m already on my second coffee at 5am.
