Great conversation, so much to think about. One thing I took away is that we have agency, we can go on strike, and refuse to go along with whoever is pretending to be our overlords. It's always nice to have some company on a picket line, but we get to decide our actions.

Rubio said dismantling the ICC was about U.S. security. Then Trump admitted it was really about protecting Netanyahu. The ICC prosecutes alleged war criminals through due process, with evidence and fair trials - not bombs, kidnappings, or impunity.

Then the president, almost bored, waved it away and told everyone what it actually was. A tribunal built to try the people who order atrocities is being dismantled, brick by brick, to keep one man off its docket

The people who falsely accused an Olympian of vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool are the same people telling you to trust them about the war with Iran

Why was the Trump family, including Barron, so infatuated with the Tate brothers? Were they supposed to go off to Jared and Ivanka’s Albanian island and be Epstein 2.0? Albanians have been protesting in the streets for two months and the Tate brothers should be locked up for life

I've been thinking about why we don't rise up against the billionaire solipsists, when we vastly outnumber them (there are like 3500 of them compared to 8.3 billion of us). How does a small population suppress a large population? They do it by allowing our lives to be bearable, ... /2

Everything he does is a pretext for constructing a reality to benefit himself. If he wants to invade Canada he will make us into an enemy like he’s doing with Cuba. If we cut off diplomatic ties with US, he would use it as excuse to call us “enemy”. His enablers don’t impeach b/c they benefit.

"We don't have forced labour, & we also don't have a fentanyl drug problem. Our goods & services aren't a threat to US safety, as Trump said. That's all a precondition on his part to put these tariffs in place. & look, we have been down this road time & time again with this administration." #cdnpoli

Another great episode! Speaking truth to power. My worry with "communism" is the US regime is constructing enemies to justify attacking them, as they did with "drug boats", Venezuela, Iran, Cuba, allowing US military to follow illegal orders. Will they do this next to Canada? Will military mutiny?

Peer Reviews? By what peers, who? where? How? Trust nothing this guy says, it’s an act, a distraction ‘squirrel!’ from the unregulated push that these guys are furiously funding in every legislature they can

Humans have always struggled to grasp what is true (see: Emperor’s New Clothes). Even when it’s obvious what’s true, we fool ourselves, because we benefit in some way. As long as people are benefiting from lies, it will go on. It takes courage to stand up and say what’s true.

Trump's Big Lie televised address on election fraud exposed the paradox of a POTUS who's incredibly weak yet dangerous at the same time From the falsehoods to the wildfire blame game to the cringe at the World Cup, America is a giant embarrassment My new column www.inquirer.com/columnists/a...

Every so often, the idea of Guaranteed Basic Income comes up as a political topic in Canada. To test the effects of the idea, Manitoba conducted the Manitoba Basic Annual Income Experiment in the 1970s. This is the story of Mincome. 📸 Winnipeg Sun 🧵 1/8
