As Jane shows, telling students it’s OK to use AI for brainstorming or outlining is telling them to use AI to think and write for them. It is to also telling them to cheat and helping them cheat.

So much bullshit. Human connection is the heart and soul teaching without AI. Stop roboticizing sensible and moral human behavior by using business consultant-speak ("RQ"). Would love to see evidence that time savings have ever been returned to workers, including teachers.

Anne Lutz Fernandez@lutzfernandez.bsky.social · 2d agoBut one is being quashed. I’ve heard from too many educators who find it harder now to feel they are making a difference in kids’ lives. Abiding the conditions that grind away this essential motivation is giving up on American education without saying so.
I would like to return to the classroom. I don’t know anyone who’s been teaching since I left who is happier now than they were 8-10 years ago. Plus, y’know, salaries.

This was a great moral injury perpetrated on all of us. And there has been very little wide-scale work to recover from that (in addition to everything else that we need to recover from with COVID).
