I’m impressed… We can only hope that better routine maintenance is imposed. How great that the employees had the alarm devices on them!

It’s one of the gems of our fair city. On our first visit many years ago, we bought our day ticket and walk through the gate and walked about 30 steps into the garden. We then turned around, went back to the ticket seller, and asked if we could exchange these towards an annual pass.
The garden was praised for its lush landscapes, seasonal iris tracker and authentic Japanese design by renowned architect Takuma Tono. https://mrf.lu/2T_qR
Like many volunteers, they keep showing up—despite losing family members, friends, and neighbors—to help La Guaira rebuild and recover. (3/3)

“If we could see the blessed community before us, we’d have no need for hope for it—but we know that if we do not move in the direction of that community, even the glimpses we’ve caught of its potential will fade away, overrun by the oppressors of this world”
“What has the gospel to do with the oppressed of the land and their struggle for liberation?” the Black theologian James H. Cone asked. Well, everything. My Quaker message this week is about why we work diligently toward the redemption of all creation. (See Romans 8:23.) quaker.org/2026/07/13/w...
It's amazing that Trump have a speech dedicated to pushing his election fraud lies, still get in weird comments about trans people, and pundits will be like, "Are DEMOCRATS too focused on trans issues?" No, dummies. There's only one side that's obsessed with trans people, and it's certainly not Dems

This is important.
There are hundreds of fires actively burning in Canada. Firefighters face dangers beyond the blaze itself. Their work subjects them to carcinogens from burning materials, as well as toxic per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from flame-suppressing foams. #chemsky 🧪
Probably more helpful to think of them not so much as “Canadian wildfires” but rather “climate change wildfires currently consuming Canada”

This is terrific research. However, I did an Internet search for foods that contain high amounts of copper ion, and one of them is dark chocolate. I may be in big trouble if I ever get this type of leukemia. Science research is so important.
That is good news. Good news yesterday too. Bye bye lady g

This is a type of violence we ALWAYS treat as acceptable. This is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. Our infrastructure and mobility choices show where our priorities lie, and the prioritization of deadly modes over proven alternatives is fully damning. WHAT ARE WE DOING?? www.oregonlive.com/crime/2026/0...
