God the idea that the Cons might have actually tried to woo him is… concerning
just had a horrific vision of the future in which Zack Polanski and Kemi Badenoch have a podcast and now I need a lie down
I do, in fact, think that Neo-Nazis should be pushed out of public life permanently.
Hello I'm an idiot
Maybe Kemi can put him in the House of Lords. That would *really* own the libs.
Joshua Bonehill-Paine steps back from being a Conservative council candidate following backlash
“Kemi has instead offered that I become an adviser to the Conservative Party’s Culture and Integration Commission, specifically focusing on how young men become radicalised."

In a post on X he says he’ll instead be advising the Conservative Party on how young men become radicalised
As a local cllr, I felt quite insulted by the suggestion that all we do is ‘deal with parking & sorting out the bins’, suggesting that because we’re so trivial it’s OK to put up a convicted anti-Semite as a prospective cllr.
Here are the stupidest things Kemi Badenoch has said so far today inews.co.uk/opinion/kemi...
You can/should read Emily Wilson's latest take on the Odyssey, but I'm logging on to convey my hairdresser's reaction. She was AGHAST that Nolan, with his million $ budget, gave Matt Damon ONLY 6 hair extensions. As a result, his hair did not blow around properly, & that ruined the film for her.
Sad to see LibDems jump on the prison panic bandwagon. "We know some prisoners must be released earlier, but not them, or them, or him, or her, or them, etc..." is an infinite loop that destroys public trust. Also potentially dangerous, as it throttles arrest/prosecution/sentencing at the other end.
I’m surprised Kemi Badenoch is so opposed to the early prisoner release scheme. It’s an excellent source of Tory candidates.
Quite impressive to completely undermine your own defence and insult most of your party's elected officials in the same sentence.
It's OK for criminal ex-neo Nazis to run your bins is a hell of a line.
Could we send Kemi to one of those clinics phone addicted teens go to? I'll chip in ten pounds for the sake of the party I once loved.
That Joshua Bonehill-Paine is a suitable Tory candidate but Grant Shapps and Gavin Barwell have been excluded is quite a good indicator of how many seats the Tories will realistically regain at the next election.
To be fair, “Councillors and council elections don’t matter” are a load-bearing part of the “Kemi Badenoch is doing well and the Conservative party’s prospects under her are looking good” thesis.
It's OK for criminal ex-neo Nazis to run your bins is a hell of a line.
Interesting passage in the mea culpa on antisemitism from Tory council candidate at centre of selection row, supporting the view - fiercely denied by most on left at the time - that Corbyn was a magnet drawing antisemitic cranks into Labour.
A colonised mind will fight harder to protect the master's image than to recover its own dignity. - Frantz Fanon

Reform UKs plan to use the Royal Navy to intercept migrant boats in the Channel brilliantly taken apart by ... er ... Nigel Farage
Fairly sober testing report from the AI Security Institute: they gave internet access and removed some guardrails from latest AI models and found without them they were capable of potentially harmful activity directed at real people and organisations www.aisi.gov.uk/blog/inciden...
Oh shut up and fuck off - the British famously lost that battle too and had the advantage of being across a sea for the next few years
Musk has managed to poison the well to such an extent that we can now only think of platforms as "The Woke Factory" or "you will receive abuse from misogynists, racists and fascists and you will like it", and that's not great - hopefully Bsky does manage to create something in the middle!

I was struck by a piece on Radio 4 the other day, asking whether Burnham would be more "pragmatic" - meaning "positive" - about drilling in the North Sea. It was simply taken for granted that drilling was the "pragmatic" option, while opposing it was dogmatic or ideological.
Wrote about the deafening silence on our summer of climate impacts from Labour, the Lib Dems, the Greens, business leaders, and even some campaign groups. The dominant climate discourse from the past week has been from those who want to ditch net zero targets and trash decarbonisation policies.
you can even see how it's veering right.
I don't think people are ready for this kind of joke yet.
Reform managing to use “lethal force” as a term both specific and nebulous
Nigel Farage just took a question from a 'journalist' at his press conference, who turned out to be his former chief adviser Raheem Kassam, who asks him why the media are being so unfair to him
UPDATE: bsky.app/profile/benq...
Reform document: “We do not believe for one moment that the French Navy or Gendarmerie would open fire on Royal Marines” putting those from small boats back on French beaches. “Likelihood of tactical confrontation is incredibly low..”
Spectacular example of 'if you're explaining you're losing' in Politico's newsletter this morning: 'A Reform official said Farage will be able to explain this morning how the measure doesn’t lead to war with France.'
