Yes, military strikes on water infrastructure should be a war crime But what about military strikes on the 'critical infrastructure' of ecosystems? You know, our life support system? This war has been absolutely devastating for the fragile marine and coastal ecosystems of the Persian Gulf

Military strikes on water facilities in Iran may constitute a war crime, experts say

Strikes on Bemani damaged key water reservoir for 20,000 people living in area amid a historic drought in the country

Excellent leadership from Zack Polanski and, as ever, powerful message also from @chrisgpackham.bsky.social - including on the need to just stop oil, shift to plant-rich diets, fight mis and disinformation, and address the abysmal failures of mainstream media 👏

My urgent message to the Prime Minister with a Q&A with journalists on our plans. Joined by a medic, a former soldier, a firefighter and Chris Packham. 👇🏽 www.youtube.com/live/bsTXZ2V...

This is the kind of thing that's going to make the press suddenly decide it's an urgent issue that Kemi Badenoch be replaced. Especially since they've decided it's not going to be Farage who benefits and they've almost certainly concluded that Labour's work is done.

Horrendous stuff, but again it is grimly hilarious that the Tory leader is so awesomely stupid that she doesn’t understand she’s humiliating everyone and making an absolute mockery of almost a decade of terrifying all-channels panic.

"To fund this policy, expected to cost somewhere in the region of £500 million, Burnham’s government is ‘reprioritising’ money that was originally earmarked for the Department of Energy Security and Net-Zero" But of course... #NetZero #Buses #UKPolitics

"What a simple, sensible, albeit pretty obvious policy to introduce...Until you notice where the money is coming from." Let's check the fine print of Andy Burnham's bus fare cap. jeastoe.substack.com/p/good-polic...

My column on how capital becomes a death cult. Faced with a choice between profit and human life, the radical right chooses profit. Then it tries to persuade us that mass death is what we want. It's the new phase of climate denial: accept your fate, earthlings. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Murderous heat, an endangered food supply, decimated landscapes: embrace the Mediterranean life | George Monbiot

As climate disaster stares us in the face, the radical right says ‘Embrace the Mediterranean life’. Embrace death, more like it, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

If you show up to Bluesky without following anyone, you'll be treated to a series of posts about art, music, and dogs. If you show up to X without following anyone, you'll be bombarded with right-wing conspiracies and white supremacist slop. It's weird which one is seen as a "political bubble"

"I arrived at Lake Constance. Lake Constance is sadly no longer there. Anyone who rolls back climate protection like Friedrich Merz does will ultimately lose our lakes and rivers. The only question is: Where does this man go on vacation that he's completely unaware of all this?"

Climate change has never been more visible than in 2026. We’ve had serious flooding in the winter, heat waves since May and drought and wildfires. Yet central government is on about immigration and fiscal rules. I’m not hearing anything about adaptations to schools and hospitals to help cope

Incredible shit here: the guy Badenoch is defending was sent to prison for sending racist abuse to the MP Luciana Berger. Who then did a whole series of interviews and columns talking about her criminal harassment by Nazis, in a manner intended to make listeners believe it was done by Labour members

Even I am taken aback at the new and surprising ways these people find to insult the public’s intelligence and make it more clear the only operative professional standard in force is “LOL fuck you”

Badenoch said: "So I want to be very clear, and I think people can look at me and know that I'm not a person who would be recruiting neo-Nazis to the Conservative Party.
"Joshua Bonehill-Paine is someone who actually has been certified by the Home Office to train police officers on anti-Semitism and on countering extremism.
"Yes, he is somebody who had been previously convicted for this, but he is someone has shown contrition for his crimes, has been rehabilitated and is spending every day working to solve the very problem which he knew he had caused previously.
"He's going up and down the country training people and the Conservative Party believes in second chances.
"This is not just someone that we've picked up who's a convicted criminal, this is somebody who is actively working to help communities, especially Jewish communities and this is what I want to see.
"I want second chances for people, for people who've learned their lessons, for people who are showing that they know what they did was wrong.
"What I don't want to see is early release of people who have no contrition whatsoever, who don't care, and who are going to be out on the streets actually harming people.

If the left want to be taken seriously by the British political and pundit class, they need to stop saying ridiculous things like "I believe transgender people deserve to live with dignity, rights and respect," and instead say common sense things like "I would like to statutorily rape young women."

Direct, full-time jobs opening Rosebank oilfield would create: 450 D, f-t jobs opening Jackdaw gasfield would create: 27 D, f-t jobs in UK's net-zero economy: 300,000 + 400,000 more on the way D, f-t jobs in the rest of the green economy: 600,000 Is that really the hill Burnham wants to die on?

Crop yields down, our countryside scorched and over 2800 people are dead due to this summer's heatwaves. Meanwhile fossil fuel giants are raking in record profits. We must end this rampant profiteering, and cut fossil fuels from our energy mix as soon as possible.
