BREAKING: The Cost of Renting Receipt 1988 was the last time we had rent controls in England. Since then rents have risen by 1,200%. If our groceries had risen at the same rate, a standard ten-item shop would cost nearly £120, more than five times what it costs today.

I marched in my first Glasgow Pride today. Some colleagues and I got hold of a rainbow JCB for the parade and I spent most of my time trying to part the crowds and get the gayest telehandler you've ever seen through the city! I wanted folks to know that queers are EVERYWHERE, even in construction.

On his last day of PMQs and cabinet Starmer oversaw the order to enforce the trans segregation guidance that makes Britain one of the most trans hostile nations in Europe - creating a culture of gender norm enforcement, social suspicion, and vigilante toilet police.

Pedestrianization is often framed as transforming streets. In many cases, we're actually restoring them. We're reclaiming what's been lost: social connection, local commerce, civic life, and human-scale movement. Perhaps it's time to shift from street transformation to street restoration.
