The Odyssey is a nice example of the problem with every effort to "understand" Trumpers. There's nothing to "understand" here: this man has no idea what happens in Homer's epic, he's an arrogant dimwit with a made-up version in his head that he uses as an excuse to be weird and racist. That's it.

It jumps around so much, and spends so little time on any one particular moment or scene, that you never really feel like Odysseus is on an epic journey spanning many years. When he makes it home, you never feel like he's been gone for 20 years. The film does not capture the grandeur and scope of the original epic. That's why it feels rushed and too long simultaneously. The movie comes off like a rough draft. Nolan was searching for the actual story but never quite found it.

Anyway there's a pretty clearly marked trapdoor underneath going all-in on a guy you never heard of a couple weeks previously and whose Policy Positions are things he, by his own admission, has believed in for all of like 8 months. Lotta people chose to stand on it, not sure why.

My life has become a Far Side comic. I’ve chased this duck away from my pool a couple of times and he’s been sitting up there on my neighbor’s roof watching me all day. As soon as I go back in the house I know he’s gonna make a break for the pool.

The entire reason AI is being deployed in schools is to funnel money out of schools and into tech companies. Whatever reasons you've convinced yourself that AI edtech is necessary, regardless of how "useful" you think it is, it's sole purpose is to pad the pockets of the wealthy.
