I keep thinking about that Publisher's Marketplace article on AI in publishing and how the only two books that have been publicly challenged are two self-published books by Black women that did well and I cannot think that is a coincidence.

The diarrhea lettuce company, Taylor Farms, uses slave labor contracted from the Arizona Dept. of Corrections. The backbreaking labor is often performed by imprisoned Mexican nationals who would be otherwise ineligble to work in the US. They are paid $1.50 an hour.

I keep reading posts about people changing how they write to avoid sounding like AI but if my writing sounds like AI it’s because they stole my shit. And if you change how you write, they’re just gonna steal that shit, too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Using lists of three is not an "AI tell." It's a common trait in human writing because our brains biologically want to make sure there's always one thing to marry, one thing to fuck, and one thing to murder.

Look, this story is bananas. A whole bunch of people read an AI manuscript and wanted to throw money at it. But the craziest thing here is that PUBLISHERS MARKETPLACE RAN AN AUTHOR’S MANUSCRIPT THROUGH AN AI DETECTOR. Like, WTF are we doing here, guys?
