Optimistic but so very tired

This and its replies underscore why the Democratic party is perceived as elitist. The part of the electorate they lost *may* come back out of spite of what's going on now. This will do nothing to retain them. To be clear, I support higher ed—but other things are higher priority out of the gate.

When they get back in power, Democrats need to go all-in on higher education. We need a campaign of reinvestment in public universities across the country that makes the Morrill Land-Grant Act look like nothing by comparison *and* a GI Bill of Rights-style program of tuition grants.

Alright, I finally took the bait. Good lord. This is, however, the inevitable outcome of indulging everyone's desire to have the world bend to their niche positions, rather than just saying, thanks for sharing your view and moving on. (Or just declaring "that's stupid" when warranted).

hilarious and insane article. full of the sorts of people you meet all the time in left activism, who combine neuroticism and narcissism to bring down any institution they're allowed into.
