In addition to having no experience in immigration, their website shows Ilya Shapiro (!) and disgraced former law prof Joshua Wright (!) as Senior Counsel. I don't think this massive contract was awarded to give immigrant children effective, zealous advocacy. burkegroup.law/our-team/

26-employee Texas law firm gets $150M to represent 24,000 children in immigration court

Maybe it’s just how he talks, and this is completely unscientific, but Miller’s odd word choices and bad grammar in that interview, IMO, sound like someone trying to lie and deflect faster than his brain can keep up.

honestly can't stress enough, as a former family law attorney, how depressingly common Max Miller's behavior and words are, right down to the petty fixation on custody procedure and rules when faced with allegations of shocking violence.

Rep. Max Miller: "When I was reported for child abuse of my daughter for a broken collarbone, my daughter was in my ex-wife's care 9 out of the last 11 days and she took her to the emergency room, which is a contempt violation from our shared parenting plan."

Miller claims he has a private settlement agreement confirming two daycare workers caused the injury to his child. Cases may settle before a lawsuit is ever filed, but FWIW I could not find any lawsuit in which Miller, Moreno, or anyone in their family sued a daycare.

Wait, I’d missed this: over the weekend, Miller released thousands of pages of unredacted records from his and his ex’s custody dispute in a desperate attempt to clear his name. The documents included sensitive personal details, including a NUDE PHOTO of their 2-year-old.

It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better

“Paul Weiss was a progressive stalwart for decades” lmao sure, let’s go with that. Do not look behind the curtain at their actual litigation representation for their corporate clients or their all-white partner class No biglaw firm can call itself “progressive,” please, what a fucking joke.

This is one deeply reported, beautifully written (or edited) story, and you should find time this Sunday morning to read every word of it. 1/2 Gift link www.nytimes.com/2026/08/02/u...

I fucking hate xAI but she’s 100% right. I’m not against laws that ban nudification. But this one is written way too broadly and outlaws a lot of lawful speech. For example you can’t upload a photo of your family at the beach to tweak the sunset

33k people are cancelling me on Threads and I’ve been trending for 2 days straight bc I said that Minnesota’s AI nudification law is bad and has serious first amendment concerns, meaning xAI is actually right to try to get it overturned: www.bedrockprinciple.com/p/minnesotas...
