In Maryland you can register to vote at age 16 and even vote in a primary at 17 as long as you’ll be 18 by the date of the general election. I was trained as a registration volunteer about 10 years ago and am happy to help if you live in Maryland and have questions.

Younger son decided to try making cinnamon rolls from scratch last night by himself. Let the dough rise in the fridge overnight and totally nailed it. I’m so proud he’s brave enough to try stuff like this!
This really stinks but I’m not surprised. That storm was violent and woke us all up and there are branches down all over our neighborhood. Thankfully, no damage or injuries here.

Son’s high school is moving to oral exams in some cases to help ensure kids aren’t using AI to write papers. The administration wants our kids to be able to think and articulate ideas on their own and in a group. I applaud this.
The discussion of how these centers sometimes help fund schools and libraries etc. just reminds me of Potterville from It’s a Wonderful Life. They’ll look nice for a while but once those companies are settled they have no incentive to keep funding the community. We’ll all be beholden to them.
