10. ALGORITHMS TO LIVE BY (Brian Christian & Tom Griffiths). this is like a survey textbook of classic CS and maths stuff (optimal stopping, sorting, game theory etc), with many 'apply-to-life' examples. v cool stuff from grad school, and well written, but really not my thing to read for fun

I was woken up at 5 am by a neighbour. A skunk! I'm not even mad at it. My new neighbourhood has skunks, a fox, deer, and squirrels. It's fantastic. I was honestly starting to think southern Ontario didn't have any wildlife 😆

For anyone keeping track at home, since I got access to my new place, a hot water pipe burst at 11 pm last night in the ceiling on the other side of the hall. No water damage for me, but the water alarms went off for about an hour and cleanup went through the night.

I finally have access to my new suite. I cannot tell you how stoked I am. Cutest little historical house in an upper Italian neighbourhood. No more downtown adventures and no more living with undergrads.
