This country is so racist. I have Ukrainian loved ones and Haitian loved ones. My Ukrainian friends are so ashamed of the difference between how they are treated and how Haitians are treated, when both groups fled war-torn countries for a better life. Imagine removing TPS and shackling Ukrainians

So many immigrants I've interviewed break down about this. "Monsanto Maler was one of several Haitian immigrants who traveled from Springfield for a check in...after an ankle monitor was attached to him, Maler was seen collapsing to the ground and crying." www.springfieldnewssun.com/local/hundre...

I get the idea but racism isn’t about appealing to reality it’s about enforcing the idea that people’s very existence delegitimizes them by default We lived through this with Obama. There is no amount of credentials or credibility that quieted those foreignizing him. In fact a guy got elected on it

Dr. Abdul El-Sayed was practically engineered to break MAGA brains. American-born (sorry, no “go back” card), ridiculously credentialed (MD + Oxford PhD), explains policy like a normal human, and takes zero crap. Good luck finding a script for that.

I’m sorry, you simply can’t lead your newscast with that Miller tape on the birthright citizenship “order” without pointing out that that’s not the damn way it works. It’s just not journalism.

Golden State Valkyries forward Gabby Williams: “There’s a lot of discourse around trans athletes and what they can compete in. I would welcome a trans athlete on my team or against my team. Anytime. I don’t think it’s a problem in the world, it’s just another way to kind of attack trans people.”

The most important political conversation happening in the US right now, is the fight between "progressives that are not anti-Black," and "Dem centrists that are super anti-Black." This is the whole ballgame. MAGA doesn't matter. We don't need "civil conversations🤡" as defined by Charlie Kirk.

A lot of (Non-Black) people on here pretend to be neutral and "just let users moderate themselves!" when they see people post joy at the death of Black men like George Floyd... but then jump in to "protect civil conversation🤡" if Black folk aren't sufficiently deferential when alt-right dudes die.

Given AI is now integrated in popular writing tools and mandated at many workplaces, every piece of human output can legitimately be suspected of being AI assisted. Minorities will bear the brunt of consequences and accusations here as our culture of double standards and DEI witch-hunts have shown.

A Nigerian born author, Jerry Falade, had his $2.4M book deal pulled because he was accused of using AI. There is unavoidable optics of a Black man writing a brilliant novel that people assume must have been written by AI. However the broader issue is we can’t trust any writing isn’t AI generated.

The End of an Era - Hugh Howey

We knew this day would come. Some of us have known for decades, have been writing and pontificating about this since Ken Jennings lost at Jeopardy and Kasparov lost at chess. The writing was on the wa...

I worry that most cynical among us, hopped up on 30 years of law and order rhetoric, will say "this is the system working: he didn't do anything wrong and now he's free." As if the terror and wide-scale publicity of an arrest and federal prosecution is not a horrible punishment in and of itself.
