Trump is trying to pull off a US-style version of the Tiananmen Square Massacre coverup where everyone in China who remembered what happened on June 4, 1989 knows *exactly* what they must not admit and is utterly terrified to speak the truth. I never imagined seeing such abject cowardice in the US.

😮 Trump's nominees are the most pathetic men in the world 😮 During a hearing, Blumenthal made Trump nominees squirm by asking them who won the 2020 election -- a question they refuse to answer -- but then Schiff upped the ante by asking them *who won the 2016 election.* Here's a supercut:

Yet another update: Understand that I'm not telling you to give up your computer. I'm just saying that there are options when it comes to composing text. The different methods use different parts of your brain, so switching between them can be a good way to get past writers block.

I mentioned earlier this week that after reading Neal Stephenson's article on the benefits of writing by hand, I've been working that way all week. In fact, today I bought a lap desk so I can write anywhere in the apartment. Naturally, I added a mouse for my cat, Aces.

Another headline story about a pastor/church guy. When was the last time you saw a headline like this about a drag queen or a transexual female? Florida pastor accused of having sex with 14-year-old boy, not revealing HIV diagnosis www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

Granted I'm not smart enough to be a SpaceX investor but if I was, I think I would have questions about why you need humanoid robots working in factories on the moon, presumably making things that would need to get shipped back to earth

LOMBARDO: So I know the pastor spoke about Officer Abdelnabi-- TRUMP RALLY CROWD: *Boooooo* LOMBARDO: No. We're not booing him. He's the officer that passed away here recently

It's funny because so many cultures have some version of "God Willing" and they're all normal and inoffensive, but the chuds who are upset by hearing "Inshallah" have a lot of overlap with users of the one version that is a huge red flag, the phrase tattooed on our Secretary of Defense: "Deus Vult".

The first solid line-up was Lux (Akron), Ivy (Cali but living in Akron), Bassist Bryan Gregory (Cleveland) and drummer Nick Knox (Cleveland). That's why the first demos were released as The Ohio Tapes. The Cramps played in the same clubs as Devo, Pere Ubu, & the Dead Boys in Akron & Cleveland.

Groan. Classic NYT. "The Cramps were formed in 1976 by Lux Interior and his wife, the guitarist Poison Ivy, who met as students at Sacramento State in California." Yes. Met there (alledgedly Ivy was hitchhiking & Lux gave her a lift. Wouldn't you??). FORMED in Akron, Ohio, Lux's hometown.

The Cramps introduced the world to “psychobilly” and turned Henry Rollins and Ian MacKaye into fans. Now the duo is part of an effort to bring the music back.

Found that marble and the “bird beak” or whatever that bone was at the same part of the beach where I found this ~ 1940s shotgun shell cap and an old tin ointment or oilpaint tube. Lots of old bricks too, so seems to be an area where vintage garbage shows up for some reason.
