Lol, summer scheduling has messed me up so much that not only did I forget the timing to leave for kickboxing/kung fu today, but I also forgot there's no class today, so now I'm on campus with a sword, 45 minutes early, for a nonexistent class - at least it's a pretty morning and I'm on a bike

Campaign email for Ottawa mayor @mark-sutcliffe.bsky.social accuses competitor @jleiper.bsky.social of wanting to “force you out of your car and onto your bicycle”. What dirty, dishonest language for a city that (like most on this continent) overwhelmingly prioritizes cars above every other mode.

I feel like in some intersections you need, not a red light camera, but a *stop line* camera. Like here, where the stop line is way back from the light, but also that's where the pedestrians and bikers cross. SO OFTEN I see someone roll through that space and nearly hit a cyclist

The figures represent a major milestone for the German “Energiewende,” or “energy turnaround,” a national push to ramp up renewable energy and phase out gas, coal, and nuclear power.
