Screaming guitar solos, throbbing base and extended plays to a largely empty restaurant. It’s so loud even the waitstaff have earplugs in. Singer just announced he’s going to try something he can’t do. God help us all.

This whole Staples gift card for every teacher scenario is such a grift. Not only are common school supplies not available through Staples and are 3-5x more expensive — they’re not even being provided until after school starts in Ottawa. Once again, Ford forgets Ontario isn’t just Toronto.

Hilarious how Canada’s American-owned right-wing papers like the Sun and the National Post shriek about the Liberal government and do everything possible to undermine our sovereignty while losing money and being *utterly dependent* on that Liberal government. Something more grotesque than “ironic” 😡

Postmedia’s $16.9-million loss highlights Canadian media’s deepening dependence on government subsidies

Postmedia lost $16.9 million even with $4.8 million in federal subsidies. Is government funding actually saving Canadian media or just delaying the inevitable?

I can only dream of a Belgian-like regional system for GO or VIA. Belgium is highly comparable to SW Ontario + GTHA. It's a similar size (30/45km2), similar population (10/11M), full of small/med sized cities with comparable populations. Trains are frequent, cheap, comfortable all over the country.

Angus: He has said on multiple occasions that he thinks he should be able to arbitrarily move the border… That's the Great Lakes. So you arbitrarily move the border, that's an invasion.

Carling Ave exists as a 6-lane highway for the benefit of people in kanata. Having lived right alongside it for 3+ yrs I can confirm it doesn’t exist for the benefits of the neighborhoods who have to be subjected the violence you experience along it #ottawa

IMHO stage three should be a surface route along curling from Lincoln Fields, and then into the Glebe, to Lansdowne and swing south to Billings and return up to Hurdman making a connected loop. We own the ROW already, and would connect ppl and place

Urbanist Philomena Cunk. Some shop owners are terrified of bike lanes because they believe a person on a bicycle is physically incapable of holding currency. They assume that if you can't park a massive metal box right outside their door, the local economy will instantly collapse.
