NYT wanted to write a story about "moderate Dems go to war with DSA," looked around, and the best they could find was a *proposal* by Third Way to spend $15M against left candidates. The story is not evidence that *Democrats* and the left hate each other... it's evidence that the NYT hates both.

Looks like a 10-15 point polling miss in Michigan regardless of who wins. And people have been writing a lot of electability takes using this data. It’s dangerous out there folks be safe

This thread made me grateful I read the original unpopular take it responded to. Sometimes we need to look at unpopular takes to see what is true and where our thinking is muddied! At least it was helpful for me - thank you Nathan 💕

I think this is fundamentally wrong but in an interesting way I will need to write about sometime. The key is a) consumers do not choose what is produced, or how, they choose between what is produced. This is a crucial difference

Real talk: a lot of people who should be diagnosed as antisocial (or rather, its childhood equivalent, oppositional defiant disorder) are instead diagnosed as ADHD. And uh...I think this dude is a perfect example of that. Right down to the "wanting to be a cop" part.

Incidentally, this is why I never expect a follow back when I hit that follow button - hitting follow just means I liked a post I saw, I think you’re human, and I hope to see your posts in my feed in the future. NOTHING MORE!!

Ok, spent ten minutes and found it absolutely mind numbingly impossible so anyways, just a reminder that just cause we get followed doesn’t mean it’s by an account worthy of a follow back

It’s so funny when people are like “sure you’re an abolitionist now but wait until you’re the victim of a property crime.” Buddy, the most useful thing the police have ever done for property crime is put the form you need to submit to your insurance online.

I couldn’t help but think of something I tell myself when trying not to impulse shop: “just because I think something is neat doesn’t mean I have to own it” idk if it’s an American or human impulse that makes me want to possess what I enjoy, but it’s especially heartbreaking with pets

Somewhere out there is a cat breeder trying to figure out how to make "Jimothy" cats and we've unfortunately learned from Sphyxes and Munchkin cats that a lot of people would buy them.

When HRC ran, my at the time 6 yo said they didn’t want her to run, they were afraid she’d be assassinated. It’s an even more terrifying time right now to be a femme person with opinions, much less radical ones. The heart breaks and breaks.

I think this is a persuasive essay. And even tho I hope to see somebody as flippin’ awesome as AOC run, the author’s statement that this is like asking them to give their life to the cause is especially true with a woman

THIS IS NOT ME WEIGHING IN ON WILSON V. NOLAN that being said a couple times now I’ve seen it hinted or outright said that it’s ungrateful of her to write a negative review of the movie because it helped her sell books but like: she doesn’t owe him anything. what are we even doing here
