To districts and librarians, we know you were following your policies. In fact, some of you have over, followed your policies and overcomplied, removing classic books from your library. Your response to this should be we are following our board policy. 7/

Off topic but -- Also, please note that she learned stage combat at the University of the Arts, which shutdown without notice in June 2024 and none of the people responsible for upending the lives of students and faculty with their incompetence (at best) have ever been held accountable.

glad this weirdo apparently didn’t hurt anyone so we can just enjoy the fact that he was foiled by an actor employing her training in stage combat

The biggest target I've ever seen on my books. Texas placed Banned Book Club and Occulted on a state-wide list of illegal "dirty books." Having them in any school could lead to state takeover where the government could shut down the library entirely and convert it into a student detention center.

Texas Lieutenant Governor releases a list of 2200 "dirty books" deemed illegal for school libraries to have, including two of my books about book censorship.

Trump is already planning for the 20*30* Census. This time, not only does he want to stop counting noncitizens, he wants to stop counting race and ethnicity. Can't have an unconstituional racial gerrymander if you pretend not to know where Black people live. My latest in @thenation.com

The Trump Plan to Cook the Census Books

From adding a citizenship question to not tracking race and ethnicity, the administration wants to minimize Black and brown political power.

Democrats this month flipped two school boards that had been drawing a ton of attention for ultraconservative policies. One in Florida. One in Tennessee. One in a county Trump won by 18, the other in a county he won by 20.

The Sick Times' coverage of Long COVID and other infection associated chronic conditions is invaluable. They were gracious enough to work with me on this piece, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share a story that I think will sadly resonate with so many others.

Incredible. When E—n M—k & his crew obliterated USAID in a weekend, they deleted a vast trove of publicly-funded knowledge: the Development Experience Clearinghouse. A Canadian high school student (!) happened to have downloaded the entire thing for a project. AidData has now posted it for all.

Video of an ICE agent pulling a gun on a wife and mother, who is a US citizen born and raised in the area, near Bailey's Crossroads in Northern Virginia yesterday. Chillingly, they claimed she “almost ran them over” until she told them she had video proving that was a lie.
