due to AI proliferation my high school kid now has to provide *primary* sources for assignment topics like queer civil rights in america during the 80s, which is especially fun as those sources keep receding behind paywalls and forced obsolescence

i had the misfortune of listening in on a bunch of parents of primary school-age kids and they were all helping their kids find ways to use AI without getting caught because they were all convinced that's what all of the smarter ones than theirs were already doing

Crucial to note that Image said they “will not be working with Warren on anything further until he has made amends to the satisfaction of all involved” back in 2021… it took them just three years to break this promise by reprinting DESOLATION JONES in 2024

As a reminder, in 2020, more than 60 people accused Warren Ellis of grooming and sexual impropriety, coming together to create the website somanyofus.com. In its most recent update, in 2023, the site posted: "To the best of our knowledge, Warren Ellis took none of the steps we hoped he would."

i am constantly destroyed by the way everyone who uses the tech has *entirely* shrugged off the issue of it being built from stolen work, it's totally irrelevant to them how many other thieves can use "i had no budget to do it any other way" as an excuse?

Much of what is said about economics is little better than gaslighting.... I used AI tools when writing this post, including a spell checker. I also used 50 years of experience writing about these issues. The drawing was the smallest part of all that, and I had no budget to do it any other way.
