Haven’t done a fixing-things thread for a *long* time. Tonight on the kitchen-counter-cum-workbench, my 1974 Leica CL. This is a very small little film camera. My example is extremely beat-up. But it runs. Job tonight is the light meter. The CL has a meter that expects to run at 1.35V

I really needed to read a book that would be a balm to my soul, and I suspected that Kate Elliott’s The Witch Roads would fit the bill. I’m only about 1/4 through it and 💕

said it before and i'll say it again: the number one writing hack is just to make friends. you can either spend an hour in an obscure & contentious reddit forum trying to figure out what a 2012 camaro sounds like or you can ask your buddy, the Car Guy

YES. Knowing a lot of folks who know a lot of different and weird things is great (and having friends in general is cool). And even when your friend doesn't know the answer to your specific question, they probably know someone who does ("Let's ask Camaro Bob, he's got, like, 12 Camaros")
