"From 2000–2024, there were 528,245 ± 9,042 preventable deaths in U.S. traffic crashes at an economic cost of $754 B and VSL of $4.30 T." Time and time again we have made the choice against proven strategies that would save lives.

New research shows that the US has been a global laggard curbing crash deaths. If the US had merely matched improvements in 14 peer nations, 500,000+ lives would have been saved from 2000-24. doi.org/10.1080/1538...

Community members are re-liberating space tonight from killer cops in Madison, Wisconsin. Here’s a still image from a live feed filmed about an hour ago, community members can be heard chanting, “Say his name, Corey Ruiz.”

Dozens of community re-liberating space. A destroyed memorial for Corey Ruiz is seen in the foreground.

We built the Stevenson to relieve congestion on Archer. Since that apparently didn't work, we should reassess whether or not we can repurpose or remove some of those expressways that are reaching the end of their initial useful life

Susana Mendoza just slammed the Archer Av. bike lanes as a debacle that has made traffic worse, saying that Archer used to be a great shortcut & a fast thoroughfare. On @wbez.org with @sashaannsimons.bsky.social Anyone who has ever traveled on Archer knows this is BS. It's always been a car sewer

we need a strong republican party and a bipartisan MAHA movement and common sense trans sports bans and a bailout for havana syndrome victims. we need a big tent democratic party that includes war criminals and the lady at the the wellness store trying to get your mom off chemo
