I would not be remotely surprised to learn there is price fixing in fast food. They have like, 2 people working at any given time. The portions are shrinking. It costs like $20 to get a merely decent tier meal to go, which is, indeed, a higher portion of my income than it used to be.

Absolutely incredible way to respond to a TPUSA college kid who said the price of a Chipotle burrito is too high. No notes from me. Hard to understand how the media company this guy leads could possibly be hemorrhaging subscribers!

Ben Shapiro tweet: “I hear that young people are upset about $20 burritos. Okay, young people: a burrito does not cost $20. If you’re paying $20 for a burrito and you’re not independently wealthy, you’re doing life wrong. We have enough problems as a country without insane expectations that the government is going to provide us gourmet-quality burritos.”

hey @joshuajfriedman.com if there's one thing I might beg you to communicate internally - the (a?) core of bluesky users want opt-in instead of opt-out, because we don't trust social media corporations to ever do good thngs. It's a learned distrust, and it might not be fair, but it's there.

╪═╪═╪═╪═╪═╪═╪═╪    🐐🐄 🐏 🐐 ╪═╪═╪═╪═╪═╪═╪═╪

And I worry that there are a lot of people on the left who don't care about this problem because they hate AI. But the truth is that as this technology continues to get jammed into everything from customer service to banking to fast food orders, having built-in fair right bias is bad.

This should concern you. Not because they actually have any legal legal to stand on, but because this is a blatant effort to make criticizing the government, the very reason we have a first amendment, illegal. There is almost nothing more American than criticizing the government.

'DHS has sent hundreds of subpoenas to social-media companies, according to people familiar with the matter. Its agents have tracked down Americans at work and on the road, asking them to sign letters acknowledging their online speech about ICE “may” be a crime.' www.wsj.com/politics/pol...

I honestly don't understand wtf has to be wrong with you to still be clinging to Harry Potter? Why are some of you *introducing* your kids to Harry Potter? I used to lead panels at HP conventions before JKR came out as a monster & I won't even read the fanfic. Stop it.

JKR explicitly said she considers anything Potter-related, even fan-made, endorsement of her politics. And every time you engage with this franchise, you signal to the industry that there's still money in it and they should keep pumping out content from full-cast audiobooks to book box partnerships.

the whole 'nothing has gotten better' discourse is of course fucking stupid in a million ways, but I just wanted to note that average dog lifespan in the United States has increased by two years since 2000.

Hey guys, Perez Hilton performed self-harm and may have attempted a suicide on TikTok and screenshots are flying around, so if you are sensitive, go put "Perez Hilton" in your mutes right now.

If this state elects Tubberville governor I will be accelerating my plans to get out. This man hates literally everything me and my family are and believe and I can't really deal with living amongst people who hate me that much. It's not good for me psychologically.
