Tonight at our Board of Estimate & Taxation meeting we deadlocked on deciding the maximum levy for the City and the Parks. I voted in full support of the park board’s levy request and the city’s request throughout every single amendment brought forward, but we could not find consensus on that.
This city deserves only the best after all we've been through!
tom olsen says we deserve more than a city in managed decline, and he believes minneapolis is on the rise, but the park board has been dealing with “death by a thousand cuts” for years in ways that park commissioners hear complaints about all the time- reduced hours, rec centers closed on sundays

A message to the city of Minneapolis: Consolidation would hurt our parks
The quality of our Minneapolis parks would erode under consolidation and be an ineffective use of taxpayer dollars.
