I consider myself a very smart and capable procrastinator.

[James Stewart as Odysseus] now listen here, Agamemnon, I'm going home, y'see. You keep your fancy armour, I'm getting off this crummy ol' beach. [Spotting the Cyclops] now here's a curious fella, he's only got one peeper

Surrounded by women, lawmakers, and advocate champions, Gov. Maura Healey signed landmark legislation ensuring full abortion access in MA. Women have the fundamental right to choose for their own bodies. Healthcare is a human right, period!

Todd Blanche: “I am not sure of the uproar of having a Border Patrol or ICE agent at a polling location. What's the risk?” Uhm, maybe because it’s illegal? Federal statute 18 U.S.C. § 592 prohibits deploying “troops or armed men” to locations where elections are held. An AG should know this.

08/10/26 AM You can put me on mute & block me. I don't care. I'll not stop! There're NO Civil Rights in Trump & Kimberly Richey’s Deranged America! I'll repeat this Every Day until Reality Sinks In. No children's rights, women's rights, disability rights, minority rights! 150 yrs gone! Get Louder!

This idea has been policy and extremely well held *fact* for half the country for decades. I grew up in the 80s assuming the fact I was told was right and it took years for me to outgrow that assumption. The free market only optimizes for profit, not for consumers, and certainly not for workers.

Among the worst ideas floating around is that "the free market" will naturally achieve desirable results for society. No, it won't, not even in theory, much less in practice. Markets don't optimize "good for society" unless you make them.

THIS. I cannot "this" this enough. Because OUT LOUD the author of a nonfiction book on "the future of truth and technology" stated: "what I failed to recognize was that, in some cases, it (AI) transformed those summaries...into what appeared to be direct quotations, but were not." ...smh

GM CEO Mary Barra is introducing Trump at his rally. Something to keep in mind if you're in the market for a vehicle anytime soon.

Absolutely wrong. There is a (humorous, non-standard) "Scalzi" unit of measurement, but it is not this. This has been another episode of "Don't fucking trust 'AI' to tell you things," starring me, John Scalzi

The "Scalzi" (often pluralized as Scalzis) is a humorous unit of measurement used in sci-fi fandom and at conventions. Originating from science fiction culture, it is used to measure distance or pacing.A single "Scalzi" is equal to the length of a single stride taken by a person who is 6 feet 3 inches tall.

Part of the fucking job of nearly EVERY government official - elected AND appointed - is to have and develop contengencies to ensure the financial and physical safety of the people they're serving. HALF THE JOB is fucking dealing with hypotheticals. It is LITERALLY THE BASIS of forming plans.

Look, in the role of the CDC, the idea is that you work in ALL HYPOTHETICALS to plan ahead and stop something terrible before it happens. If you’re arguing you don’t talk in hypotheticals then you are already unqualified for the position.

"I don't speak in hypotheticals" Oh okay, then you're unqualified, thanks for playing now get the fuck out. It's the fucking CDC. Half their damn job is figuring out how to deal with shit that hasn't happened yet but *might* !
