It says a lot about the Minnesota corporate community that the people they chose to represent their interests often embody the ethics of the business community.

Name a Minnesota political pundit and I will tell you which election they lost to move them from being relevant to being a pundit. Why are losers seen as credible? When you lose it means the voters are rejecting your point of view. Yet on the Almanac couch your rejected perspective lives forever.
Nothing Kendal says is wrong, but a lot of this is on politicians. Republicans won’t even do town halls; Amy Klobuchar won’t be caught dead campaigning in a room that might contain lefties. So moderate Dems and most Republicans limit these “bipartisan” gatherings to the safest, whitest spaces.
Farmfest is ridiculously over covered by the Minnesota political news media. The traditional Minnesota campaign calendar centers rural, white folks in a state that increasingly not. Rural areas less and less white, and the state is less and less rural. Yet for two days nothing else matters.
Abdul El-Sayed evidently has more "stick it to 'em."

Put me in the camp that says the word “establishment” means nothing. I am not saying the concept isn’t inportant. I am saying we need to be more articulate. It’s a nebulous idea word and a moving target. Usually the ”establishment” is rich, aloof and elitist, so say that instead and show evidence.
NEW: Missouri voters have rejected Amendment 4, which Republicans had passed to make citizen-initiated constitutional amendments effectively impossible. It would have required initiatives to pass in every congressional district—not just statewide—giving the overwhelmingly red districts a veto
Still can’t over the fact that the president of the United States just told an entire state to pound sand after getting cyberattacked by a foreign adversary because they didn’t vote for him and it was treated like a Tuesday lol
If you have to release a video rebutting a U.S. Senator who says who abused your wife and child, maybe it’s a signal you need to give it up.
As we get closer and closer to Primaries in Michigan, Minnesota and elsewhere, the fundraising outreach fever is intensifying. Angie Craig is pretending she doesn’t have a primary. Piling up dough for a general election that may not happen. Which all becomes cash for consultants in the long run.
Is the Minnesota news adequately covering the attempted security breach of our drinking water systems by a foreign adversary? And the President essentially saying we deserve it? Seems bad.
A President purposely allowing the drinking water in one part of their nation to be jeopardized. Because those people didn’t vote for him. That’s where we’re at.
Twins announcers touting the “World Series experience“ of their new trade acquisition. lol.
if you want to see normally sclerotic do-nothing local governments suddenly snap into action, do some quietly beneficial tactical urbanism type thing like this and watch how quickly they race to remove it
The DSA in Wilmingotn, N.C. has created a "crisis" by putting benches at city bus stops, after literal decades of the city promising and failing to do so.
Hey Minnesota won and the nudification technology ban will go into effect tomorrow at 12:00AM!
Tried to reserve reserve judgement regarding Mayor Her. But I just read that she campaigned on “Bringing people together to get things done.” If a Saint Paul mayor echoes Norm, that’s not good in my book. And if they didn’t know, it’s worse.
I was talking to someone who attended the touring “Great Gatsby” broadway show on April 21 this year. During the quiet parts toward the end, the audience inside Minneapolis’s Orpheum theater could hear the crowd outside singing Prince songs.
For better or worse, the AFL-CIO genuinely is a bottom up, grassroots, democratic institution.
The AFL-CIO leadership is actually quite decentralized since any union can leave at any time and thus it does not have the power to tell the union heads what to do.
Twins had two out, nobody on in the 9th. Trailing 3-0. Had one hit the entire day. Down to their last strike often--had to overcome a challenge on a 3-2 pitch to Bell. But a hit batter, a single, that walk and suddenly a grand slam by Kody Clements walks it off.
This is RV so this likely tracks with the recent GB polls that have Dems up at least 10 LV My true hot take is that the midterms haven’t really shifted; polls are just now switching over to LV screens and the effect we will see from the recent bad news will come in a few weeks

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Randy Dobnak threw seven shoutout innings against the Minnesota Twins, his former team, on Wednesday.
No-knock warrants are down nearly 80% statewide thanks to the near-total ban I authored and passed in 2023. Courts can only authorize no-knock entries under extreme, life-threatening circumstances and two full years of data from the BCA show it’s working. This law is saving lives.
Chris Madel is a name that makes me very suspicious of whatever he’s up to.
This is a very good point. There has been a deliberate transition from solving problems collectively to forcing the burden onto us individually. That is an intentional sleight-of-hand that puts the burden on us as lonely powerless individuals instead of on the institutions that are failing us.
Half the point of a government is that you and me do not have the wherewithal to pay attention to this shit on a constant basis and so the government needs to regulate the fucking egg people and the fucking beef people and the fucking whatever people so that food is as safe as it can be.
