No matter how many times I uncheck this setting in the App Store, it's turned back on by Apple multiple times a year. What is the point of a setting that they just unset for you whenever they feel like it?

I made a similar joke yesterday, but I guarantee someone at Neon really wants to call this BACKROADS. It's gonna get some comparisons to BACKROOMS, though it premiered over a year ago on the festival circuit, predating the current trends. Cool As fuck vibes driven cosmic horror. Highly recommended.

NEW POSTER - On August 21, IT ENDS. Only in theaters from NEON. Four friends post-college plans are derailed when a wrong turn traps them on a never-ending backroad.

Heartbreaking. ONCE is a top 10 movie for me, and one of the movies I've rewatched and studied the most. That movie and his performance were a major reference and influence on Blindspotting. I was so lucky to see the Swell Season in concert last year at The Greek. We all lost a true artist today.

I don't think I should run Netflix. But if I did run Netflix, I would spend 0.25% of the $20B annual content budget ($50M) on making weird genre movies with upcoming filmmaking talent. Give them meaningful creative freedom, but also take a first-look on their next movie.

I want an extensive documentary about the interdepartmental conversations that went into the design of the screen separating Penelope from the suitors and visitors. We are already overflowing with camera and aspect-ratio discourse. But this is something that truly touches almost every department!

Watching the World Cup on Fox One is exposing me to previously unimaginable broadcasting horrors. They just played the same "Fox News Wine Shop" with Steve Doocy commercial three times in a row.

I haven’t seen the movie, so this is not a comment on the quality of the movie; but I don’t have any interest in seeing a Robin Hood movie where the marketing tagline is that Robin Hood wasn’t a hero. It’s like marketing cheesecake by saying “this cheesecake is no dessert”

Some recommendations from my recently enjoyed media consumption list… TV: Widow's Bay, Taskmaster S21, Legends (Netflix) Film: Obsession, Power Ballad, Exiled (Johnnie To), Wasteman Books: the Dungeon Crawler Carl series

Considering signing up for one of these stupid prediction markets just so I can create a (definitely-not-a) bet for "Will the new Batman movie have a scene where we see Bruce Wayne's parents being murdered?"

Film business press: "Zigging is the only thing that works at the box-office. Every studio is demanding zigs and only zigs." Film business press, maybe a year later: "Nobody Saw Zags Coming! Zags Are The New Zigs!"

I guess I won't watch the Champions League final since Paramount+ refuses to play the live video on either my computer or my AppleTV. It also keeps displaying a "Fatal Error" message. Buddy, I'll survive. I'll just cancel my subscription.
