I had the greatest time with colleagues and this lovely bunch of people I have got to know well over the past five years. Everyone looking out for one another. Benny always up for a laugh, as seen in the photo. He got me to do it too. Havoc in Hastings and a splendid day at the seaside had by all.

We recently took a coach full of local older adults on a free day trip to Hastings. It was a wonderful chance to get out of London and make the most of a sunny day by the coast, made possible by Southwark Charities.

Coin Street has appointed Rebecca Sycamore as new Chief Executive Officer. Rebecca joins us on 1 October and will succeed Iain Tuckett as we begin our next chapter of community-led development on London’s South Bank.

"Dolly Parton is loved for many reasons—the songwriting, the singing, the industry smarts, the cheeky cracks, the homey manner, the beauty, the verve, the hits. She is also loved for being loved, and loved transcendentally,” Lauren Michele Jackson writes. newyorkermag.visitlink.me/ayBPjC

The United States of Dolly Parton

From 2020: A voice for working-class women and an icon for all kinds of women, Parton has maintained her star power throughout life phases and political cycles, Lauren Michele Jackson writes.

Dolly Parton may have been only five feet tall, but she made herself larger than life. She challenged stereotypes about women and appearance with a wink, a healthy dose of self-aware irony and a refusal to apologize for what she wanted, Vanessa Friedman writes. nyti.ms/4qyrUny

Farage didn't attend the result declaration in person, with Reform saying police advised against it - the BBC understands that is not the case according to the Returning Officer. More dodgy dealings from Reform. Outrageous. Cowardly not to face the people and disrespectful to the voters.
