for all of the "I don't want to get my heart broken by Texas" people out there, it's okay. I'm fine getting my heart broken. I'm gonna run at that brick wall screaming WE CAN DO THIS and if I smack into it and fall over, oh well. I'll get up & do it again next time. I can not be stopped. LOL

In Texas we are beginning to see counties where the early vote so far is surpassing the entire turnout (including early AND election day) from 2022. This is concentrated in Hispanic Counties, along with some of the most diverse urban/suburban areas not far behind.

A small fleet of what appears to be military helicopters just flew over our house so close that the windows in my office were literally—and loudly—shaking. Anyone else in Austin see this?!

So I figure it's time to 'splain some law to people, because I need my poor and beleaguered paralegal to focus on other things, and as long as you are all being aggressively wrong online she will be tempted to patiently explain things to you. Unfortunately now you are in my world.

Putting someone in jail for criminal contempt requires notice and a hearing -- essentially a full-ass trial. It's not like the judge can just push a button and flush the guy into an oubliette.
