Jason Mamoa's general affect is more similar to what I've experienced from actually big tough guys irl. Which is odd though cos the latter is just as fakeable?
I think it's finally happened. I'm cancelling my Alamo Drafthouse season pass. I've been a member since their beta test on 2019. I started going to the original when I lived in Austin. But everything about it has gotten So Much Worse this year that I have to call it off.
I should be clear that the architecture of Bluesky makes it the social media place I most like to be. I'm not on social media to be an influencer or instigator; I want to hang out with folks and have an enjoyable time. This place delivers on that. I hope it continues to do so for a long time.
People focus too much on the minutiae of ideology (left versus right) and not enough on the structure of it. Someone who has the authoritarian structure of belief, the conspiracy-theorist-like thinking, the good/bad/black/white division, etc., isn't your political ally.

I've watched the West burn out of control for the last 10 years. Carter put solar panels on the WH. Reagan removed them. Al Gore warned us about climate change, but we elected GW Bush and Big Oil.
I haven’t really spent any time on the couch in my living room since I was sick. For two weeks leading up to my hospitalization I more or less lived on this couch. It’s odd sitting back here. I am actually a little anxious about it.

Actually on reflection I would not. Risking acceleration of the already big and growing antisemitism in the fascism party isn’t worth a laugh at JD looking like a doofus, since he does that plenty without prompting already.
“The Mandalorian and Grogu” should just have been another season of the series. As a movie it has zero reason to exist.
Keep in mind, of course, that the DSA is supposedly anti-genocide. Which makes their cuddling up to the CCP, who is committing genocide against the Uyghur Muslims, all the more disgusting.

It doesn't matter how many times local chapters brush off the national organization's brazen cozying up with China, you just don't sweep something like this under the rug and pretend it's normal.

If you cannot sit in your seat and shut the fuck up for two hours, you shouldn’t be there. I should not have to look at you and say “Can you fucking not?!?” After the 4th time of you slurping your empty drink loudly.

In reality, the city has never adequately funded harm reduction programs and continues to rely on incarceration to address homelessness. What Powell wants is what we're doing.
It was inevitable that reactionary centrists would turn against harm reduction and call for a return to mass incarceration
