New from Shonen Jump! Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi, Vol. 2 is now available in print and digital! Read a free preview: https://bit.ly/4sKOatY
Some Record of Ragnarok (19) lettering. Fun fact: For this series, after all the English SFX are drawn and placed, it takes an average of 120 hours to erase the Japanese underneath.
Some custom brush work I did for the first volume of Assassins Creed Shadows: Tales of Iga from Viz Media.

Some lettering from the new Star Wars Visions Tsukumo manga I worked for Viz Media.
Beyblade X volume 6! Here's some SFX I lettered for it that I think are neat. I don't have the final Japanese pages on hand so no comparisons this time.
Pages like this are why letterers stay burned out and behind schedule 😂😭
I'm dead now.
This looks so good 🥹
Being involved with a new edition of Phoenix is an honor (and a huge responsibility). The series will be published in six large-sized (7x10") hardcover editions with cloth casewrap, screenprinting, and gold foil. Feat. the original Dadakai translation with revisions/updates & letters by @sara.pizza
Congratulations to all the @screentoneys.com winners. The only award that counts! 😉
ladies, please get off twitter it's not healthy for anyone, including recently-hatched queers, or translators who need a magnifying glass and high-res .tifs to process your doomscrolling feed
Incoming. Can’t really show what it’s for, but it’s gonna look sick once it’s printed 🥷
We're honored that SEARCH AND DESTROY by Atsushi Kaneko, based on DORORO by Osamu Tezuka, has been nominated for Best Continuing Manga Series at the 2026 American Manga Awards!
Some lettering I did for vol. 9 of Hayashida Q’s, Dai Dark. Drawn on paper using a standard pigment liner, scanned and then placed using Photoshop.
Billy Bat sound effects thread! Brendon (@lettererbrendo.bsky.social) and I adore the way Urasawa draws sound effects, and are so excited to adapt the Billy Bat sound effects into English. For years, we'd talked about the quirks they have and how to replicate them. Here's a thread of comparisons!
Billy Bat volume 1 is out in English now! It's my favorite comic ever, and I'm so grateful that I get to letter this edition alongside @lettererbrendo.bsky.social. We literally fantasized for years about stylistic choices we would make if we ever got to letter it, and I want to share about those!

Record Journey volume 1 is out in English now. The Japanese volumes have super cool book design, so I wanted to see how they compare. The biggest visual difference is the gloss finish. Colors appear much brighter, and there's less texture in the image compared to the Japanese matte dust jacket.
Japanese posters for The Terminator and Blade Runner. Both logos were designed by Kiroku Higaki in the 80s. I love that they both widen at the base, giving them a subtle sense of moving forward. I could stare at this stuff all day. Higaki is an absolute master.
Ah, yep. Looking at the other chapter titles, that seems like the case. I see resizing artifacts on the edges of the letters, so it might be two images layered within indesign causing an interpolation issue.
Restoring some of the rough pencil marks left behind by the artist. Most people will probably never notice details like this, but I think they add a lot of character to the page. Sometimes it's the imperfect bits that make the art feel alive. #manga #lettering
Some lettering for Dai Dark 9. Lettering translated work is always a strange balance. You’re changing the page while trying to preserve the feeling of the original. As letterers, we just do our best to preserve what made it special in the first place.
Pure insanity. Let's not forget, on top of lettering and erasing the Japanese, letterers typically lay out the book, add page numbers, chapter titles, do contents pages, TL notes, under jacket and preview pages—possibly within a 7-day window. The work that goes into manga localisation is no joke.
Immortality and Punishment volume 2 released yesterday.
