My uncle, a skilled carpenter, made me a desktop bookcase one Christmas circa early 1970's and filled this tiny bookcase with about 25 Ladybird books. The bookcase is sadly long gone but the occasional Ladybird book pops up in house moves and always brings a nice smile to my face.

The 2nd sentence of this snippet of UEFA’s response to FIFA (the whole of which is fantastic) reminds me of Thatcher & everything she sold off - resulting in high utility & rail prices, dirty rivers & water shortages and a huge welfare bill as we pay market rent instead of using houses we owned.

It's hot again out there! 🥵 The poplar trees across the road from us are shedding their leaves. We are being covered in a sea of yellow as the trees are tricked by stress brought on by drought into a 'false autumn'. The one thing I thought we could rely on was the seasons. Most discombobulating.
