In Ontario annual cost of living increases for healthcare workers have been 2.5-3% per year. This year it was just announced that they will be only 1.5%. With inflation at 2% this means that most healthcare workers are getting their pay cut this year. Liberals and Conservatives alike hate workers.

Planned changes to Ottawa’s Canada Health Transfer could slash more than $50B from public health care over a decade, David J. Climenhaga reports. This article and more at canadahealthwatch.ca #CdnHealth

As I just said on radio 4 other provinces figured out how to sell off their US booze and give proceeds to good causes like food banks. If Ontario can’t figure out what to do with the stored booze that’s a Ford leadership issue not an excuse to put it back on the shelves! #Onpoli

If this offseason does not cause the Kraken to commit to a youth movement fans need to drag Jerry Bruckheimer and the whole FO through the streets. Building through FAs and 30-something deadline acquisitions is outdated thinking. It's not a rebuild to let the kids play. It's their only option.

i assume banning kids from social media will be accompanied by a huge investment in teen-friendly communtiy spaces (like youth clubs) and social activities? No? Huh.

So many people focused on Bari Weiss asking to make protesters look more violent and glossing over Pelley admitting they’d already dug deep for the most violent protester footage they could find. His interview is more of an indictment of corporate media than many want to admit.

Ontario's democracy is in shambles and there's little evidence that things will improve anytime soon. The Ontario Conservatives and Ontario Liberals are openly corrupt, and despite its best efforts the Ontario NDP doesn't seem to be able to convince voters that it's a viable option. Dark times...

95% sure that I just saw Auston Matthews... The coolest part is that maybe <30% of the people around him realized it was him and nobody who did acted weird. He's resigning with Toronto for sure.

Unfortunately, the World Cup (brought to you by John Tory) has cost the city lots of projects during what would otherwise be one of, if not the, busiest times of the year for Toronto's film industry. I'm not exaggerating when I say that the World Cup has cost 1000s of people their jobs. Fuck FIFA.

Mayor Olivia Chow takes the lectern to present the film awards. These awards come from Cannes, apparently! Pretty big movie town, I hear. "These awards recognize that Toronto is a truly film-friendly city."

Little Joe will help Pittsburgh's veteran core make one last run at winning the Cup. Frankie's potential is undeniable but there are still questions about his compete level. Frankie gets a fresh start and joins Boston's youth movement and Little Joe gets the chance to win a championship. Win-win.

Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium is set to trade gorillas with Boston’s Franklin Park Zoo. Frankie, Pittsburgh’s 7-year-old male western lowland gorilla, will head to Boston, and in exchange, Boston will send 33-year-old Little Joe the silverback @triblive.bsky.social 🦍

Social service providers working with equity-seeking groups — from employment services supporting people with disabilities, to HART Hubs for people who use drugs — are given NDAs as a condition of funding that prevent them from speaking out against harm wrought by the Ford government.

The author makes a great point. Everyone's taxable earned income should be public. Norway & Finland do this and no harm has come out of it. Making only the income of government employees public disincentives working in public service. Info on Finland's approach: www.vero.fi/en/About-us/...
