It’s always a little disappointing when you do an attack on artfight and don’t even get a comment on it.. I don’t expect revenges but I’d like at least some acknowledgement 😞

Might as well post this here: Updating Alma’s ref sheet for #artfight this year! Hoping to do more than I did last year.. but also god damn the different between my art now and back then is crazy

Reference sheet for Alma. Features a dynamic pose, as well as a front and back view. Her color palette and hammer’s design are also present.

SUPER MARIO BROS. 2 The entire game takes place in a dream. 10/10. Mario is so well rested, fully ready for the day ahead. No wonder he can enthusiastically exhibit theory when he says 'Lets-a-go'.

Any advice Tom has on making indie games is worth listening to, but I really want to highlight his thoughts on price point - it's well explained. I do think that the movement to get indies to charge more mostly just hurt new indies - with fewer players, fewer/worse reviews, and lower sales.

I've been running an indie games studio for 15 years now, and it felt like a good time to boil down what I've learned into 4 pieces of advice: www.pentadact.com/2026-01-08-1... I hope it's of use, not least because goddamn I forgot how long blog posts take to write.

A timeline visually representing the advice from my post, emphasising how dramatically and reliably having more time, with a testable build, converts to your game being better and your studio being safer.
