Genies amongst you, I see they have some speakers on the Congress website. Great talks! I will be going whether I can really afford it or not!!

The most adorable shrieking & joyful yelling & screaming from the 2 young neighbours on their trampoline in the snow. That's how you do a snow day 'put your jandals & jacket on & get out on the tramp'

#Genealogy #FamilyHistory I'm at my #FamilySearch Center this afternoon if any genies need a limited-access record copy. #PayItForward #SpreadTheWord
Given that I watched the netball last night, I can’t believe I am still wide awake.
As a retired primary teacher I keep thinking about this crazy restraint idea. I wonder how many teachers would be injured in the process. But Henry doesn’t think about teachers. We don’t count.
Amazingly I had a ringside seat outside the hotel I was supposed to be checking into, because of the aircon gas leak inside which brought a whole heap of fire engines outside. But I was just trying to keep warm and didn’t take a single photo!
Enjoyed some time at Wellington Station before my bus too.
The Pukeahu National War Memorial was just up the road from my hotel so took a wander up there before I left. Had no idea how many smaller memorials were nestled up there.
Arguably Ernest Rutherford wouldn't be eligible under these criteria? The guy on our $100 note. That guy. Mr. 104th Element. This is the level of small-mindedness we're discussing.
I haven't done a genealogy blog post in quite some time- but a query from a cousin who is heading off to Ireland in a few days, kicked me into gear. This is a case of parents' names on Ancestry trees based on nothing much... kiwinomadancestors.blogspot.com/2026/07/jame...

We've had a lot of frosts in Palmy this winter, but the one this morning takes the cake. It's a real doozy. 8am and the grass is still very white.
Have started upping my walking distances again. Enjoyed the river track towards Linton this morning. Will go to the bridge near Linton Camp next time. Love that bridge😁
The only thing National has done “for” women the past three years is cancel pay equity and feed their children slop
Man, if only National had been in power for the last few years and been able to do all these things they've suggested recently.

I put some beef in the slow cooker this morning and the smell is now tantalising 😄
I was going to go on a long walk today, but realistically maybe a shorter one will do today, longer one tomorrow.
This week Mum and Dad picked up 6 donated sewing machines from Hawkes Bay, and 5 from Woodville. I have two from Wellington in my boot to take to Mum for checking this weekend. Keep up the good work, Aotearoa! Email us at sewingmachinedonations@gmail.com if you have something to pass along!
Watching a Miss Marple programme. Young woman in it is supposedly a New Zealander. But her accent is an Aussie one.
Jesus wept Any time anyone anywhere attempts to rehabilitate Humpty, just utter two words Pay Equality Fuck off & thank you.
Jenna Lynch polishing this turd of an episode as Luxon being a smart strategist is the living end. If Nash had hung in there Luxon would be falling all over himself to excuse the behaviour. He has all the principle of a wet mop #nzpol www.stuff.co.nz/politics/361...
So much nonsense in Discover on Ancestry. My NZ born grandmother never left the country but they’re suggesting 1950 US census 7 years after she’s died. And Jeremiah never left Ireland so Ellis Ireland is irrelevant.
Wordle 1,860 3/6 ⬜🟨⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟨⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Took me ages this one. Leaving it then coming back to it several times today. In the end it was obvious.
A someone whose dad died of smoking cancer I've always believed here's a special place in Hell for people who choose to shill for Big Tobacco. Thus no benefit of the doubt ever ever given to the likes of Costello & Bishop.
I am not a soccer follower but I was in Spain walking the last few days of the Camino in 2008 I think when they bet Germany to win the European Cup? Germans in the albergue had been so sure it was their’s for the taking. Young Spaniards walking the next day were ecstatic.

There was lots of traffic heading south towards Wellington this arvo as we drove north. No idea why. But they had the booze bus in Shannon catching all that side of the road.
