Hard surfaces and parked cars can reach extreme temperatures, while shaded grass and tree-covered areas stay dramatically cooler. This is the urban heat island effect in one image: hard surfaces absorb and radiate heat, while vegetation and shade reduce it.

It feels like a tell for how theatrical and hollow conflict in business and politics in the U.S. has become. They are used to fights with people who go out to dinner with them afterward, and they do not understand what it means to make enemies.
