Failed cartoonist He/him, cis, (multidirectionally) queer but not into bright colours. Very left wing but not here to prove my lefty credentials or have pointless arguments. ADHD and probably autistic too. Patreon.com/davidwynne

I signed the petition calling on Andy Burnham to kick the controversial US tech giant Palantir out of our NHS and police! Their £330m contract is a total bust: the tech is rubbish, staff are boycotting it, yet they still have access to our private health data: act.38degrees.org.uk/act/Kick-Out...

Andy Burnham: Kick Palantir out of our NHS!

What's the best three album run from a band? (the correct answer is Moving Pictures, Signals, and Grace Under Pressure by Rush, but I'm excited to learn second place)

So many parallels: Advances followed by brutal backlashes. Hatred cloaked in concern about "fairness" and "undue influence" on children. Insistence that it's a medical/mental problem. Rage at cultural institutions that "promote a lifestyle." Invective about "special rights." Malevolent statehouses.

I have been thinking a lot lately about how so many of the "arguments" against trans rights are essentially the same as the various fake panics about gay people.

I’m really happy @theisb.bsky.social is going to be sharing his Steel Tango scripts on the War Rocket Ajax Patreon, because I really think it’ll good for people to see them. Our working arrangement is a bit unusual, and frankly I want people to see how much better his scripts are than my final pages

I’ve always been more of a DC fan than Marvel, but the era of Marvel the came the closest to stealing my heart is this one. Outback era X-Men, the Simonsons on X-Factor, Nocenti/JRjr Daredevil, Steve Rogers is The Captain… I loved all that stuff then and still do now.

#EventsDearBoy 7. INFERNO (1988, Marvel) Hell hath no fury like a creator (of strong women characters) scorned. Ordered to kill off his supporting character Madelyne Pryor, Chris Claremont did so in the most rageful way possible and turned her into a fan icon

What I want for trans + people in the UK. The puberty blocker ban lifted. The toilet ban scrapped. Supreme Court ruling overtuned/made ineffective. An informed consent model for gender affirming care. Self ID. Non-Binary people legaly recognised. No trans + censorship in schools.

It’s interesting to me how we change over the years. My appetite for bleak, cynical comedy has withered away so much. Nathan Barley was my favourite thing in the world when it was on, I adored Jam… I don’t think I’d enjoy them if I came to them cold now.

"so, how does people being trans impact the safety of women and girls again, I'm lost" "Well the fact that they exist means a rapist could pretend to be one" They could also pretend to be a cleaner. Or a dad looking for his kid. Your answer can't possibly be force detransition all trans people.

Always found it particularly weird people decide which disorders or disabilities you're allowed based on vibe No one's like hey now there's too many glasses wearers it's an epidemic and yet other things which may make you process the world differently are described in eugenic ubermensch shit
