Can anyone tell me if last nights rain will hinder the maximum temps over the coming days? With moisture in the ground I assume humidity will also rise

It’s quite a pleasant evening in Ashford, Kent. I have amended to get the inside house temp down to 22° and outside it’s 20° but with a breeze so it’s not muggy at all. Let’s see what tomorrow will bring. I think we will briefly hit 30° around 1500-1600hrs.

A large swathe of lightening strikes in the SW currently.

A very serious situation unfolding.. Red weather warning issued 40C now possible this week .. this would be 4.4C above the current UK June temperature record... a truly astounding event The all time UK record set just 4yrs ago in July is currently 40.3C

Nantes in France is set to see 44° on Tuesday. Quite incredible temps that would raise an eyebrow or two even in Death Valley,USA.

It’s official, the cold blast is dead and buried. Yet another example of models performing terribly. They now all agree it’s wet and average temps going forward. We will have to see if the spilt vortex amounts to anything but the more we go into Feb with longer days I doubt it will mount 2 anything
