it was smart of jacob geller to only post about what he did to his 50k followers on here instead of to his 1.5 million youtube subs or on his patreon. that way fewer people know about it and he limits the financial hit

Exactly. I am tired of seeing the “I always knew”/“their work was actually bad” takes whenever allegations emerge. Sometimes—often, actually!—bad people find their way into good spaces and make good things. And you’re not better than the folks who were taken advantage of for “always knowing”

I don't think people really understand the psychic impact of knowing that multiple times a day every day your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, and everyone who could ever have any power over you is being flooded with agitprop designed to make them hate you

My Insta account got hacked this AM and blasted spam to everyone I've ever messaged. I changed my password quickly. Several hrs later all my Meta-based accts were suspended for age verification. Got back into Insta OK, but FB seems to be permanently disabled & I can only verify WhatsApp through FB?!

i've been seeing a lot of vitriol thrown at Sarah Paulson for wearing this to the Bezos-hosted Met Gala, a la "she went and she's rich so this commentary means nothing" Sarah Paulson's estimated net worth is $12 million; Bezos's is $280 billion. 20,000 Sarah Paulsons have less money than 1 Bezos.

this is haunting. reminds me of the Crane Wife folk tale (man marries transformed crane who uses her own feathers to weave cloth and thus put food on table, even though it physically hurts her)
