Kobazco (Alaina)

That's right! It's Alaina! Modder for Alpharad (I will not answer tech questions on how to play our projects. Im not tech support) Lead dev: Mariomon & Too Many Types 2 26 💜 @helix.midwestspeedfest.com

The rise of vibe coded apworlds has been extremely depressing. Like sure, I just don't have to play them and I won't. However it does mean that these games likely won't get touched ever and they'll just have their shitty vibe coded trash apworld forever. It's depressing.

How Korra. How did they make the entirety of the first season. which was. good with flaws. into a REALLY GOOD FINALE and just. throw it all in the trash in the span of like. three minutes. what the hell. i've never seen a show throw its success away so fast at the final minute. what the hell

I think I've started to realize one of the things what I love about games/media in genral. Which is just diving as deep as I can in the world building and looking at obscure bits that support it. And then engaging with it thru stuff like civ or crusader kings mods just really brings me so much joy

Jacob was actually really involved with a few parts in the development process, very much earned the director role. Which, imo as lead dev, was super important especially in combating scope creep, etc. I do get the sentiment but maybe don't assume this sorta thing :) They've always been so wonderful

Super mariomon is a really cool romhack but its funny seeing people call it alpharads romhack when he probably never looked at a single line of code for it. He is literally just an Ideas Guy with Epic Youtuber Money

A heads up that AI *was* used here. The developer also seems to be fond of ableist slurs, which you know, very cool to see in 2026.

Post from the recomp developer on Twitter. It reads:

"see, that's the reason you're fucking retarded. you didn't even bother going through my portfolio or my public github repo.

i literally write emulators whenever i have time in my yearly vacation

here's my GB CPU emulator from two years ago

GBA CPU emulator from last year

I only used AI this year for the PepsiMan recomp because the work is always gonna be incomplete cuz it needs way more time than just my 10 days summer vacation. and i contributed to psxrecomp project too."

Not even 24 hours after later, and out of nowhere, the universe send us a #PepsiMan #Recomp Or rather, a dev named "Kareem Olim" Who has single-handedly recompiled this gem and made it playable directly in your browser pepsiman.ol.mr No A.I was used here. #retrogaming #decomp #PS1 #decomp #gaming

Been playing Dragon Quest X again. Game is really fun to get back into and hopefully I can stick with it a little longer this time since friends are playing too :3 They really turned Dragon Quest IX into a full multiplayer PC game! Not even really an mmo in many ways just a massive online rpg. peak

there's no greater shame as a developer than having claude listed as a "contributor" on your github repo page, all credibility lost instantly

It seems like src started vaguely posting like they're using AI for social media ~1 month ago. They used to only post about their challenges and then started posting posts that read very, very oddly lol and now there's the one I just quoted. Makes sense given the investors they're owned by tbh

Developers ask us how to make a game speedrunners will love. "Built for speedrunners" often reads as gimmicky. The key: replayability, mechanical depth, a low skill floor and a high skill ceiling. A timer and leaderboards are important incentives - but can't be the whole offering.

I'll be helping judge a cool sick tournament coming up this weekend but im not the important one please go check out the links below to see how *YOU*, VGC player or otherwise, can help support relief for Venezuelans impacted by recent devastating earthquakes vvvvvvvv
