Web development fucked. Design fucked. Freelancing fucked. Content creation fucked. Education fucked Blogging fucked. Dev rel fucked. Hard to find a purpose in this brave new world.

"Both are fair challenges to what I said, and I was partly speculating. Let me be honest: [...]" - if you've been wondering how it goes between me & Claude. 😱 🤪

In all cases, tech leadership should do a better job, show ethics and communicate more transparently. Telling people to “not be so negative” while their job and providing for their family are at risk is incredibly tone-deaf.

Szentkirályi Alexandra rágózik a Parlament alakuló ülésén, az új miniszterelnök beszéde alatt? Engedje meg, hogy aztak*rva 🤐🤪 ún. "nemzeti oldal" 😅

visiting a bunch of software company home pages as research for a thing, and... I have no idea what these companies do. we've hit a new level of buzzword soup that I can't parse anymore. "build at the speed of thought" — build WHAT? "AI-powered" to do WHAT? "agentic workflows" WHAT IS YOUR APP?

If I were trying to sell AI to the public I would be saying “it’s a useful way to write code faster and automate some tedious tasks that couldn’t be automated well before” and instead they’re running with “get on board or get left behind” and “we WILL eliminate your job.”

amikor beléptek a szavazókörbe, esetleg várakoztok amíg az előttetek lévő adatait ellenőrzik, ti is szoktatok azon gondolkodni, hogy vajon melyik bizottsági tag melyik párt delegáltja lehet (vagy ti normálisak vagytok?) 😅

Companies: "Coding is dead. AI writes all the code now." Applicants: "Great! So this means we don't have to do code challenge interviews anymore?" Companies: "You might hear back from us if you can rebuild the entire NYT games section with unit tests in 30 minutes with no help on your first try."

One of the most passive-aggressive copy and design I've seen recently is by Loom: no secondary action, no way "back", nothing, just the very blank and dull grey background and the button which takes me to "See upgrade options". Either respect your free users or don't offer a free tier at all.

Screenshot from Loom's site. This was the second occasion I wanted to use their service and I got this screen after logging in. There are no back, close or skip buttons, only a passive-aggressive statement saying that my subscription has been downgraded, I've lost access to certain features and that my Workspace capacity has been reduced. The background is dull grey, the text is grey as well, only the CTA button is colored.
