Going on a Bluesky purge while I’m at the beach for a week. Please yell at me if you see me posting before next Sunday. If it happens I reserve the right to change my mind

Watching The Odyssey as Nolan intended: as an AI-upscaled camcorder recording with line-in audio from the theater seat, burned-in Spanish subtitles, and moving blurred patches to hide the forensic digital watermarks.

Framegrab from pirated copy of The Odyssey. Spanish subtitles are barely visible under the video filename. A big rectangle of the top of the screen is blurry.

Ah the old Twitter Files move: Assert outlandish claims, say you have evidence, get press for that, then release something that shows the opposite, assuming that many don’t bother to look, fellow travelers will tout it regardless, and by the time critics highlight it, the news cycle has moved on.

one of the supposedly damning docs the White House released tonight says Russia tried to undermine BIDEN. Also says China "prefers that President Trump be defeated" but actually "Beijing did not intend to try to affect the election" (!)

Besides having the worst politics ever, this guy was married to a woman even Don Jr wouldn't give a ring. More skeletons in his closet than a Spirit Halloween. There is, literally, more oppo on this guy than anyone else in the history of the game. And they'll run one-source stories on the front page

Gavin Newsom would be great as the 2028 nominee if you want to spend the entire campaign defending his personal life www.nytimes.com/2026/07/28/u...

If you need a writer, editor, voice actor, podcaster, consultant, PR guy, whatever—I’ve got 13 years’ professional experience in the games space. I’ve worked with Star Wars, IGN, Rolling Stone, USA Today. I did the oral history of Morrowind for Polygon once upon a time. Hit me up if you wanna chat!

One thing I've learned from operating an independent reader-funded games publication is that I'm absolute dogshit at self-promotion and I need to get better at that. Anyway, just letting you know This Week in Videogames had its first anniversary like two weeks ago lol pls subscribe to keep us alive

This Week in Videogames has reached its first full year of operation. Thank you to our paid subscribers for helping us sustain an independent, commercial-free, AI-free, and no-nonsense approach to games coverage for everyone. Here's a brief rundown of what we've managed to achieve in Year One:

it feels shallow and reductive to say that trump is the cause of why things feel so terrible, but it isn’t, he really is that bad, he really has made everyone’s life worse, he is bad vibes personified and he’s been an uninvited part of our lives for ten fucking years

i think this is (mostly) true but that it varies wildly across age groups, but it’s *most* true for age groups who are most likely to be very active on social media sites
