But in all seriousness for fuck’s sake vote today and don’t vote for fascists. We can go back to yelling at everybody who sucks next week. Time to make the white supremacists who killed our neighbors in the street and opened up foreign blacksite concentration camps feel some pain. Your vote helps.

Rather than advancing a clean energy future, this proposal would entrench fossil fuel development for decades, expand the infrastructure that locks us into continued pollution, and benefit the industries driving the #ClimateCrisis. Take action 🔗⬇️

BAAJA contains 77 dangerous provisions that undermine bedrock environmental laws all so fossil fuel companies, Big Tech, and other polluters can speed through destructive projects — with less public oversight and fewer legal protections. And, the legislation comes under the guise of clean energy.

Americans shouldn’t have to choose between modern infrastructure and the laws that protect clean water, public lands, endangered wildlife, and Tribal rights. A new bill package in the U.S. Senate is up for consideration: Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act of 2026 (S.5653) AKA #BAAJA.

Major aquifers in South Dakota in decline, threatening fresh water supplies

"We’ll reach a point where all the currently available water supply will all be in use, and in that case, the next family or business that comes to South Dakota will have to bring their own water."

In July 2024, I reported that Coinbase appeared to be violating campaign finance law by making contributions while holding federal contracts. I filed an FEC complaint alongside @publiccitizen.bsky.social. The FEC hasn’t acted. Since, Coinbase has given $60M more and landed another federal contract.

Coinbase scored another federal contract. Does that make its campaign contributions illegal? https://www.washingtonsun.com/influence/coinbase-marshal-service-contract-political-contributions

NEW: In 2024, a remote, cash-strapped county blamed malfunctioning ballot printers for a disastrous election. But that's not what actually happened. @votebeat.org and @azcir.org partnered to tell the real story of the fiasco — and how it disenfranchised voters. www.votebeat.org/arizona/2026...

An Arizona county was unprepared for Election Day. Navajo voters paid the price.

Apache County botched an election, then refused to answer questions. Now, it faces another test at the polls.

So, if LLMs are gonna eat search, Google's only option is to play to win that fight before search is gone. Plausibly you could justify all sorts of choices that are financially bad in an accounting sense because there is simply no other pathway open.

Kind of fascinating the way Alphabet/Google is making less on ads and search because of AI. Presumably they've read The Innovator's Dilemma. They know Blockbuster had an in-house version of Netflix, but didn't deploy it because it was a threat to their core business.

Reyes: Are you kidding me right now? Are you telling me that no one at counsel table thought a question I asked in a hearing about planning the golf course, thought a submission to the National Planning Comissions counted? Woodward: That's what I'm trying to.. Reyes: We're taking a 15-min break

I'll be following the happenings in Judge Reyes' courtroom this morning. She's called Stanley Woodward from the DOJ and Jessica Bowrun from the NPS to explain why Trump says he's closing East Potomac Golf Club after they told her there were no plans to do so.

This hearing, in which Judge Reyes is looking for an explanation about why DOJ told her there wasn't a "final agency action" to close the golf course when there was clearly a final agency action to close the golf course is starting right now.

Associate Attorney General Woodward remains ORDERED to appear at the hearing in person. it's kind of like how when you encounter a sign in the national parks telling you not to do a thing. the existence of that sign tells you that enough people died there doing that thing to put a sign up.

I am not going to try to tell you the banking system is good per se BUT a lot of that shit is the way it is for a reason, and the reason is literally hundreds of years of institutional knowledge of financial shenanigans

Trump is moving to gut EPA’s methane rules. His plan scraps the Super Emitter Program and loosens standards for “marginal” wells. Those wells make up nearly 80% of U.S. oil and gas wells and produce about half the methane from production. The permitting bill would make the rollback permanent. 2/
