Maybe I'm just not paying enough attention, but I don't know if I've ever heard anybody under, say, forty use the term "user-friendly." I just don't think it's a standard part of how we talk about technology anymore.

This Thursday, 7:30pm Central Time: I'm told "Ghosts" will be the first piece of the night! Gender Fucked is offering livestreaming on their YouTube if you want to tune in! (I'd encourage you to still buy a ticket to support them even if the livestream is public on their YouTube)

Last year a trans playwright reached out and asked about doing a short 10-minute stage adaptation of my story "Ghosts" for a trans playwright festival in Chicago Turns out it'll be happening this August! www.genderfucked.org/trans-scribe...

I’m super proud of this book and grateful to everyone at Tachyon Publications. Letters from an Imaginary Country and the longest story in the collection, “The Secret Diary of Mina Harker,” which I wrote for the collection, are both finalists for the World Fantasy Award. :)

I present as masculine, and the indicators that I'm nonbinary aren't always obvious and yet being interrupted by cisgender men with way fewer accomplishments so they can explain something in my field to me is an incredibly frequent experience. I wonder if I give off some subtle not-a-man pheromone.

I don't remember exactly when I became vegetarian. I remember that it was August, because a restaurant in town with northeast origins was having their annual amazing prices on lobster, and lobster was the last meat I ate. I remember my kids were in high school. So August, but 2016 or 15 or 14? <1/9>

nobody is ever beating Barack Obama in a “broke the worst half of America’s brains” competition but I’m impressed that Anthony Fauci is emerging as the LeBron to his MJ

I 100% have not changed a single goddamn thing about how I write here in the age of "AI." I write how I write. If the "AI" writes anything like how I write, it's because it stole from me. I'm gonna use any punctuation I like, and if it looks "AI"ish to you, you can go fuck yourself.

Authors and journalists are doing more first-person (hello 2010s blogging) and embracing "mistakes" in writing to prove they're not chatbots. There's even an “anti-Grammarly" app that leaves in typos and signs off "sent from my iPhone" to create more authenticity: www.wired.com/story/more-t...

Look, I really don't want to hear from anyone about anything on flights--I'm wearing my earbuds for a reason--but just imagine the hysteria if someone got up during a flight to read from a surah, pray from the Sunnah, or just recite the Shahada.

Evangelist Whitney Lynn says she preaches on planes because she loves “a captive audience.” She's not alone. It's becoming a trend. If spreading your message requires listeners who can't escape, maybe it's not as compelling as you think. www.friendlyatheist.com/p/christian-...

Yesterday I wore one of my enbie pride T-shirts, and got some amusing (to me) reactions. The shirt features a cassette tape, with the label being horizontal stripes in the colors of the nonbinary flag, and the slogan "I am a Mixtape."

For the 50,000 pound discourse, I have a degree in math and I understand expected value. I also know that the dollar equivalent of 50,000 pounds would alleviate problems that are crushing me right now. I also double majored in a humanities field, and so I understand that there are intangibles not

Cosigned. This enby actually spends a *lot* of time in Sapphic spaces, and at least 99% of my experiences have been wonderful, accepting, and joyous. And the trans lesbians (and trans bisexual women) I've seen in those spaces have been accepted and uplifted as well, in my perception.

Was at an event for dykes last night that was easily half cis & half trans and it was just a bunch of lesbians having fun. Anyone who buys the lie that cis lesbians have a problem with trans ppl haven't been in many lesbian spaces. I'd trust a cis lesbian I've never met over any other cis person.
